My 71 GTX
It started life in the junkyard as a Sport Satelite Sebring Plus. I used all the correct GTX parts and put a 440 into it. After kickin' ass on the street for awhile I decided to get serious, some Chevys were getting close to my rear bumper. I put a roller cam, tunnel ram and dual quads onto the engine after I ported the heads, etc. I 3/4 framed the car added a narrowed Dana 60, 15 x15 Centerlines and 21 x 31 x 15" roundy round rain tires. I added velour inserts to the seats and new carpet. Having half a dozen car shows in town each summer I restored the body, reshaped the fenders etc. added a hood scoop and started painting the car. I covered the perfect body with BLack, then added candy sapphire stripes. Then I clear coated the car with blue pearle in the paint. I bent up some Stainless Steel and made ground effects for the sides of the car.
I really kicked ass on the street now. I had built a Mopar Missle Leaf Link susp in the car and it was supreme on the street. The car ran 11's at Seattle International Raceway.
I won many trophies at the car show (including Internations ones), showed the car at the "World of Wheels" event and had a great time with this car.
I attended Hot Rod Super Cruise Westin Vancouver Washington and photos were taken for magazines. I entered the Friday Night Drags at Woodbine Raceway and after putting on my slicks I busted my driveshaft. Off to GI Joe's and a new U joint. I put on the street tires and won the "Fastest Streetcar in Portland" event. Cruizin' 84th Ave was awesome! I guess they don't do that anymore?
