Now that the car has been blasted. I have to replace/repair a few items. A little more than I thought but not bad in terms of mustangs. Thank goodness. I knew that the car have rust at the doors - usual spots - rear 1/4 lower sections and a spot in the cowl which was surface only. I picked up the repair metal from ponderosa mustang in florida. Matt is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to what products are good and what to stay away from. I started by cutting away the bad metal at the rear 1/4, lower outer wheel housing and the trunk drop. They all needed to be replaced. The front of the gas tank was replaced and spot welds to the front of the rear 1/4, rear of front pass. seat.

Modifications:

Install of the three point harnesses:

You can use any of the three makers of seat belts and I bought mine from hotrodder on ebay. You need to make a total of four nutplates in order to do this install.

Here is a few pics of what I did:

Lots of sand everywhere. Both sides had that much inside of the rocker.

The 2001 mustang seats which I am using is ~ 2" higher than stock in the front and 1 1/2" in the rear. Initially I mocked up a plate in order to put the seats in. My head was touching the headliner so I knew than something needed to be done. This is what I decided to remove the legs of the seat and weld in plate similar to what I did before. This will drop the seat height down ~ 1 1/2" plus I already relocated and dropped the seat pans.
