The Rusteration:
I've been tossing around the idea of paint and what I was going to do. I think everything that has one does. Bare metal or block sand the car and just paint over it. I could not make up my mind. I took 9 months to decide or maybe it was becuase I wanted to catch up with the bills that it has resulted from my obsession with changing stuff/modifying stuff.
Anyway, I decided to sadnblast the car and am glad I did it. It took 2 years to get the car from beginning to end of the modification process. It took 1 week to tear it down to metal only.
I knew about some of the rust on the car and they say that you have so much of a percentage of rust not found and I have to agree with them. I knew about the rear pass rear corner and the doors but not the other parts. I have to replace the front of the gas tank sheetmetal, front and rear of the lower 1/4 panel on the pass. side., inside of the pass. fender, both doors and some more butt welding.
The next section of the site is devoted to the rusteration of the rustang as I call it. Pre and post shots of what the car looked like pre sand and post sand with later the prime and paint. I can't wait to see the final color shot now.
