This car i owned back in 1998. It's one of those cars everyone had - the one you wish you never sold.
These pics are from the week I bought it (early 1998)
It was a fairly original 1963 mini 850 with a "magic wand" gearbox.... until I bought it.
I cooked the original engine/gearbox, then fitted an 1100cc (+ .040 making it 1132cc) with a 731 cam, remote change gearbox and extractors. That made it faster..... but it was still pretty slow. Also added was: a half roll cage, upgraded to stepped brakes, 12 inch mags, etc etc....
This car had NO RUST!!!! Was used as a Au$6,000 trade-in on a Supercharged 1988 Toyota MR2. I will never forgive myself for getting rid of this mini.
I did see it again in 2003, after it received a full rebuild, looking mighty fine with a new paintjob in Nurburg White with a Burgandy roof.
I have not seen it since that day, but hopefully it will appear once again.
