A good car....I think.
An update to my page. Since visiting this site and seeing the other k cars I now have a pride in my ride that I've never had before.

How bout this for engineering. The head has a hole in the side of it where the cam goes thru.
Covering this hole should be a little metal cap. I lost my little metal cap and had oil slinging past the cam pearing and leaking every where. Guess what a small tomato paste can is just the right size.
Here are my cool new yellow speakers.
They are Lightening Audio Bolt 5X7.
More pics of the speakers and installation on PAGE 2
WOW. Got alot done for the front end of the K. New struts, strut mounts,a tie rod end replaced and alignment.... Total parts and labor $370 more or less.
Now the important part. It feels great. The front wheels are now always touching the road. No more bouncing 5 times or more at the least little bump. No more sounds like someone beating on the front of the car with a big wrench.
It feels like a 10 year old car again.
Now the down side. Must replace brake pads this weekend before they chew into the rotors. Also a complete axle cv joint thing. (was quoted $170 plus tax parts and labor)
I'm goin broke on a K car. I can imagine how those folks with high dollar collectables must feel.

A little more about my K.
Bought her 3 or 4 years ago from my grandfather for 900 dollars. She had about 68,000 miles on her. My grandfather was first or second owner and took pretty good care of the car.
She now has nearly 85,000 miles on her.I have let the car get in poor shape. In spite of my treatment, she has been very reliable for me. Here is all I have had to have fixed.
Put new master cylinder and front brake pads on.
Had her towed to garage once cause it just BOOM quit.Turned out to be a break in the coil wire.
Grandfather had replaced radiator a few months before I bought her.
New tires. 4 for 99 dollars.
A side note about the radio. Seems the regular am/fm digital radio in the car is an am stereo radio. I found this out late one night driving and scaning the am band. Suddenly this incredible stereo seperation and a little am stereo light came on. Oh well I wish I knew of some stereo am stations I could pick up. It sounds cool.
Like I said,I now have a little pride in the car and will start to treat her a little better. She deserves it. Please feel free to comment and suggest and visit again. THANKS
