June 28, 2008 Had the car up at the track a few weeks ago. The engine was stretching the stock mounts torquing the transmission with it making it hard to speed shift it or put it into the right gear. I just installed a prothane engine and trans mounts, and it is a world of difference. Before, even at idle the engine would jump around left and right by 2 inches, now its barley a centimeter. It should be a bit faster now that i can stay on the gas longer per 1/4 mile. feels good to get rid of thoes rubber band brand motor mounts. The shifter no longer torques to the right.

To fix the transmission shifting issue ( worn out syncros) i had to ditch my new used ls1 trans and convert my old lt1 trans to the ls1 style input shaft, front cover etc. reshimmed the bearings to the same tollerences the transmission had when appart to keep the correct preload, reinstalled the trans and now it will go in gear without blocking me out like the worn syncro ls1 did. now if i could keep the shifter from torquing (weak mounts) i could actually shift it quick like i used to.

May 03, 2008 Was pretty busy last week, I got the valve springs installed, I made my own spring compressor which worked awesome but still took me 4 hours. What a pain, well now everything should be up to par, I got the single plane intake back from Arron. with the fuel rail mounts welded to the intake and the elbow made. The part list still drags on. Still have to fix the crappy shifting trans.

March 18, 2008 Had the car up at the track 2 weeks ago for a test and tune, having some issues with the transmission syncros locking me out of gears, only ran 3 times, best of a 12.23@121.6mph missing 4th gear 100 feet from the traps. that and no traction on street tires 1.9 60ft. gonna see if i can frankenstine my old transmission with the new crapy one and see if i can get it to work. Valve springs and new intake setup on the way, intake elbow being made by Aaron at Intakeelbows.com.
More to come in a few weeks

Febuary 17, 2008 Time for some stronger springs, single plane intake, and elbow to tap into the power band.
Febuary 15, 2008 Lots have hapened car has been running for a while now, 85mm maf, ory, adjustable master cylinder, new tires, first in 4 years (got my money out of my bfg dr's)Took the car over to Jeff at PSI in glen burnie, he dynotuned the car, and we found out of some potential problems, the valves are floating at 6300rpm, its making peak power at only 5600 rpm right now, possible from the l76 manifold restricting it. power pretty much flat lines up top. gotta work out the valvetrain and intake in the future.

November 30, 2007 thismorning I got the engine running, open headers, man this thing sounlds mean. It started on the first crank too! gotta get this ls1 master cylinder in, the driveshaft, make 02 extensions, get a y pipe, and do an allignment (new kmember). earlier in the week i was having some electrical issues, but eventually got them settled. the new ls1 pcm wouldnt communicate or function properly. I reflashed it by chance and it started working right. I cant wait to get this thing on the road, broken in, and tuned correctly.

November 19, 2007 I Got the flywheel, clutch, and transmission sfimounted up the the new engine. the McLeod bell housing was a pita to cut up and modify to work, had engine in, wired up the transmission,( had to convert the a4 harness to the m6 harness) working on a solution for the different fittings on the ls1 t56 to my lt1 master cylinder headers fit nice and tucked up, umi k-member fit perfectly, (but no steering allignment adjustment holes) more pictures to come, project is about 85% complete

October 10, 2007 Lots of parts have came in, the UMI k-member is here, The new heads are here, the gmpp 8krpm racing lifters lifters are here, centerbolt valve covers, coil brackets, too much stuff to list, Im not gonna have it running as sceduled, still hoping to get it fired up this month sometime. more pictures to come.

August 20, 2007 last friday went to capitol raceway, weather was hot and muggy, the car pulled a low 12, but judging by the trap speed its got alot more in it with some new tires. time to get rid of the old bologna skins. Im just spending everything I make on parts for the new engine.

Hey man nice looking camaro. 5 stars. I like that you swapped in the LS1 engine. How hard of a swap was it? I'm looking at swapping in a LS1 into my camaro after college. Where did you get your k-member from too? Come check out my camaro and let me know what you think of it. Cya around
