This is my Bird! About me, well, I'm a car lover. I love everything from a Bugatti Type 35 to a Superbee to a Ferrari F430 and everything in between. My affair however is with Firebirds. You just gotta love these automobiles. This is my page dedicated to a specific one...mine. It's a 1991 Brilliant Red Metallic GTA with the L98 engine. Just 2,915 GTAs were made in 1991 and even less with the 5.7L motor. Enjoy!

The car is equipped with the L98 engine with it's mandatory 700R4 and WS6 performance suspension. WS6 featured 36mm front and 24 mm rear stabilizer bars, special Delco gas-charged shock absorbers, specially-tuned coil springs (96 lb./inch front and 23 lb./inch rear), four-wheel disc brakes, limited-slip rear axle, and a special 12.7:1 ratio steering box, Goodyear's Eagle performance radial series, and 16" gold aluminum diamond spoke wheels. GTA seats are fully adjustable fore and aft, feature full manual recline, adjustable thigh supports as well as headrests, and power-inflatable bladders for both lumbar and lateral support. It's also fully equipped with leather bucket seats, power windows, power locks, electric mirrors, cruise control, aluminum driveshaft and oil cooler.

The engine was rebuilt after a rod broke in two. I balanced the rotating assembly and installed LT1 pistons and rods. A few modifications have being made but nothing serious. Major mods, which include heads and cam have being either left alone or just slightly upgraded. The only major upgrade so far is the SuperRam intake, which makes a difference at mid and high RPMs but still makes lots of torque at low RPMs. I will change the heads and cam. That will make a huge difference in power. Hope you like it. Don't forget the gestbook!

The basic mods are:

1. Accel/Lingenfelter SuperRam intake
2. Crane Compucam 2032 (214/220@.050, 270/276 adv., .482"/.496" 112LSA) (emissions legal cam, go figure)
3. Basic intake,exhaust,PCM bolt-ons and free mods
4. 3.73 gears

Apperance: (will post pics soon...)

1. 96-97 style Ram Air Hood
2. Breyton Magic Racing wheels, 18"

Coming Soon...

1. AFR 195 Street Eliminators (over 80cfm increase in both intake and exhaust!!!)
2. Comp Cams 280XFI- 13 (280/288 adv, 230/236@.050, .576"/.570" w/1.6:1, 113 LSA)
3. 4.10 Gears
4. Custom PROM
5. LS1 brakes

Other Mods:

1.Spohn SFC
2.Spohn Steering Brace (Wonder Bar)
3.Spohn Tubular LCA
4.KYB GR2 shocks
5.Beefed up 700R4

Don't forget to rate and take the poll!

Very nice car. I was looking at GTAs and came across your car. It has been well taken care of, you can tell that. I think you should leave the stock hood on it, the ram air hoods are getting common in my area and the GTA looks so good naturally. Keep taking care of a great ride and post some motor pictures for us when you get a chance...I think everyone wants to see more of this great ride. Later.
