First things first. After racking up only 70,000 miles due to a lot of sitting, the motor needed new seals & gaskets. No boring, just standard bearings and some paint, etc. I ditched (but still have) the intake for an Edelbrock Perfomer 289 and a Holley 600cfm w/ vacuum secondaries.
Viola!, a home made '83.

A diamond in the rough. Believe it or not, It actually did clean up very nicely following this photo. The previous owner painted it dark blue but my plan is to have it returning to the medium blue metalic "Glamour Color".

Here's the progress. A couple of weekends got me this far. Just needs headers, exhaust and valve covers. Even my wife is beginning to realize how a neglected car can be worth all of the related "get this thing out of here" grief. Now she says "is it ready yet?" God bless american V-8's and understanding wives.
