This page is for my Pace Edwards Roll Top bed cover. Their number is 1-800-281-2315.
I will first start with the items that need regular care.
Now for procedures for resetting the cover if it comes off the track.
First you must remove the stop blocks which keeps the cover from retracting into the box.
Next you have to remove the 4 bed locks for the rails. Careful, there are little adjustment blocks between the rails and the locks. Make sure you keep these, you will need them when you install the bed cover again.
You must remove the switch/strap mounting plate. There's a little set screw to hold it on.
After you loosen all 4 locks, all 4 and the switch plate will slide off the rails at the end. This will allow you to remove the bed cover with more ease. You will need to remove the 2 screws at the end of the rails to slide the everything off.
Also, you can remove the cover plate to access the box for the cover. You'll need to do this to feed the cover back into the box.
The is a light option for the bed. The wiring comes on the driver side and into the box. I cut my wires. I don't use the light. If you want to continue using yours you will have to open the light and disconnect the wiring. Then pull it out of the box area.
Now you can take the whole assembly out of the bed. It's really light, but akward, so you will need someone to help you.
Once you have the cover back into the box, you adjust the rails if you need to. My passenger side rail had popped off it's slide, so I had to remove the rail, and reinstall it. With the rails back on, reinstall the cover back onto the truck.
The procedure is just reversed. Set the cover and box assembly onto the bed, and slide the locks and switch plate onto the rails. Replace the adjustment blocks back into their respective places between the locks and bed rails of the truck. Finger tighten all the bolts. Check to make sure the tailgate can close without interferance.
Once everything is in place, tighten all 4 bolts, and set screw. Also the end bolts for the rails as well.
Next pull the cover out. You will have to actually have to go up and feed the cover into the rails. The latches will have to be retracted, otherwise it will not make it into the sliding portion of the rails.
Pull the cover past the end of the bed, this will allow for easier access to reinstall the stopping blocks.
Now retract the cover back into the rails, and check for proper operation of the cover a few times.
Please note, I accendintley let the cover fold while I was working on it. This left a crease across the cover. It is still fully operational. I already have 1 big dent in it, so the crease does not bother me. The cover is over 3 years old as it is.
