Steve's 1983 Pontiac Trans Am
This is my Trans Am. I picked it up in the summer of 2001. It originally came with a 305 ci engine and a 700R4 transmission. I also bought the engine because it had nitrous previously installed.
Since I got the car, I have done the following modifications:
Summer 2001: Transmission Rebuild
I rebuilt the transmission right after I got the car. The car did not shift automatically. During the rebuild, I added a shift kit as well as a Corvette servo, replaced the flywheel and torque converter.
Fall 2001: Graphics Kit
I added a restoration graphics kit to the Trans Am to make it stand out and give it a little more style than a plain red Trans Am.
Summer 2002: Instrumentation
I added an Autometer A-pillar guage pod as well as an Autometer A/F ratio guage and an Vacuum guage.
Summer 2003: Exterior Styling
Last summer, I added wheels and tires from an 86 GTA, as well as a wrap-around spoiler and tail lights from the same car.
Winter 2004: Engine Swap
This winter I built and installed a:
355 ci, 4 bolt main
Ported Vortec heads
Edelbrock Vortec Intake Manifold
Edelbrock 600 cfm Carburetor
Comp Cams 274XE Cam and Lifters
Hypereutectic Pistons
