Hood before
Hood during
Dont use razor blades when cutting foil backed deadening unless it has a handle...
Cab before
Start of deadening the floor
Start of deadening the roof
Finishing the drivers side floor board first so I can put my seat in and drive
Little more of the roof
Glad my roommate was gone during this...
Hood matted, awaiting motor mat from second skin
More of the floor
and more of the floor
Doing the rear of the cab
Close up
Luxury liner...installed upside down because I didnt know better at the time
Floor is finished!
Yay!
Jute mat and ac thingie back in

Trophy!
Those XLS 8s are not shallow...
DLS Iridium 6.5, meet your replacement
Gotta make room for the 8s...later ill find out its not enough
More view of the door skin
Now were doing some damage!
Wrapped the grill in some cloth
Test fit!
Perdy huh?
Time for the plate!
I really wish I would have had the welder use thicker metal...
Horrible picture of Second Skins 'Firewall'
Of course, the firewall was layed over mat
Rear doors!
More rear door!
And a little more...
I would later find out a couple of things:
1. Rain is going to be the biggest set back of this whole project
2. Putting spectrum on the fender wells...or anything upside down, is not a good idea.
Alarm always comes before equipment...picture of the back-up battery as well...along with a lot of extras that arent pictured
Santa came! Speaker wire, power and ground, battery terminals that I didnt end up using, T3002, T8002, 360.2, and some 2/0 distribution blocks...that arent really 2/0...RF just sells them as 2/0
Evidently, i was really good...
Never thought 2/0 could be this flexible
Santa really likes me. Kicks, 2/0, T4004
Swear me and santa have nothing going on...T40001 :)
And last but not least! T8004
This is the making of a failure...
More pictures of failure waiting to happen
Bondo dust gets EVERYWHERE
Test fit! Looks great here...
old Polk 6.5, meet new 8" XLS
I really like these GM doors...
Theyre really made for 8s...Unfortunately, the bondo ends up cracking and getting ripped out.
What a mess! And a peak of my highs amp rack
I only have the drivers seat in at this point, that is my g/fs seat :)
At least I gave her a pillow!
Heres some of the build pics of the amp rack
Second skin going in...hey, that rhymed...im a poet and i didnt even know it
These things weigh in at 69 lbs each...
Nice stingray huh?
Shitty ass g/f's camera cant take close up pics worth a crap
Notice everything ziptied every 6" and mounted down with cushion clamps every other 6"...with security screws...you know those thieves...always trying to steal my RCAs!...actually, its for points in competition...and of course, the wiring harness is loomed so no wires get where theyre not supposed to be
They say "Interconnects"...same shitty ass camera, I'll have to retake these with mine.
And again...
I skip around a lot...heres some pics of the surfboard, i mean T40001 and the beginning of its amp rack
Big box...no, im not compensating
More amp
Port!
Hope you like looking at the port...youll be seeing a lot of it
Port, meet top of the box
Making of the port...I know, I have no order...
Yay! No more shitty g/f camera! Custom heat shrink again, you will see it throughout the truck
Beginning of the highs amp rack
We have actuation!
Ok...thats just a test fit
Benefits of working at a shop...you can steal their glue!
Carpet! Matched to the interior
Actuator holes will also have wiring going through, so I wrapped the carpet around.
Pulling it tight, getting ready for the staple gun
Still using those bare razor blades...
Dont look at my butt!
Done!...almost
Booo!!! More shitty gf camera.
If you look close enough, all power and ground wires are labeled. The green thing is the annoying door chime harness my truck has to have...its been wrapped in sound deadener :)
ABS plastic test fit.
Like a glove!
Bye bye bondo, HELLO PL PREMIUM FTW!
Back to the processor...told you I have no order...
Door....
Prcoessor....(And the original XM unit...that thing is huge!)
Aluminum buss bars, the red thing is heatshrink
Power wire coming through bed from under the cab all the way to the front battery.
Overkill? Nah...
Ok maybe a little...
Fine, its way overkill...
Even under the dash...
Green is speaker wire, blue is interconnects, yellow is actuator, red is accessory for the fans
Right angles for noise reduction
Getting ready to take the sawzall to the toolbox...$20 rechargeable cordless LED light...lifesaver...
Cut, and lined with a rubber insert.
Buss bars wrapped in electrical tape first
Batteries in tool box...
Wiring the distro blocks up...as a note, just b/c RF says theyre made for 2/0, doesnt mean its true
This is the ground for the HC1800 up front. Youre looking through the hole for the towhook in the front
This is the ground for one of my amps inside the cab
Build pics of the box that youve seen full pics of already...
Removable port cover, routered with a half inch round over bit
Same with the port inside the box
Mortising bit now...I stapled the fleece to this that way you dont have a bulge...you can actually see its not flush against the box at that point, right now, the amp rack is warped a good inch above that...MAJOR set back...
More box pics
Amp rack before fleece
More mortising for the fleece to get stapled to
Fleecing begins!
Close up of what I was talking about
Cutting off some excess.
