.........................................BEFORE.................................................................................AFTER....................................

Well, it's been awhile! Recently, I've had some serious issues come up in my life. It kinda makes you put everything into perspective! Consequently, Thunderstang is taking a back seat to God and my family!!
That said, my 6 month schedule is pretty much, out the window! But, I still plan to have it running before summer is over!
Just pulled the masking tape off this afternoon. There's a few runs in the clear but I never claimed to be an expert! Alot of sanding and prep. Paint was $120 for a pint of color, clear, reducer and hardner(and that's jobber rates)! Shot it with a $39.95 HVLP gun from www.harborfreight.com. I think it came out pretty good! Next I'll start detailing and installing all the accessories. After that, the detailing and installing of the motor. Now we're getting somewhere!!

Here it is with all the wiring and accessories installed. '95 GT brake booster and master cylinder. Brakelines are hidden behind the wire loom and most of the other wiring is routed outside the engine compartment.
In the second photo you can see where I mounted the Wildwood adjustable prop valve behind the shock tower. I'm also temporarily running the stock BCS but that'll give way to the Gillis unit, immediately after I pass smog!

Just picked up this complete, mint GT ground effects kit for $150. Ooops............wrong color! That's alright, my SVO hood is white. Guess I'm gonna have to get the car painted!

Here's the motor pretty much ready to go in. The shortblock is built (see page 1), the head is a work of art by Boport of Santa Cruz, CA. It's off an '86 XR4ti ported, shaved, chambers cc'd, valves unshrouded, reworked valve bowls and a bunch of other trick stuff. Ranger roller cam, Racer Walsh adj cam gear, ported lower and gutted/rotated upper intakes, Bob's log, T3, 3" elbow and downpipe, Kirban AFPR, browntops, etc. Oh yeah, the alt is a 130a unit from PA Performance, bought from their bargain bin for $89!

I get alot of questions about my alternator mounts. The top mount is just the stock '89 Mustang upper A/C mount that I spaced out 1-1/2" with aluminum spacers for proper alignment. The bottom mount is a piece I fabbed up. I had a 10" piece of 3/16" steel stock laying around. I simply cut it in half and welded the 2 pieces at a 90* angle. Welded a gusset in for strength, drilled a couple of holes and bolted it to the lower A/C bracket mounting holes in the block. The alt runs off a seperate belt directly off the crank pulley.

The valve cover is powder coated in black, blue and a foot-thick clear coat! Done by Mad Adder over on www.turboford.org.
