These pages are devoted to my current project - Thunderstang! Hopefully, if all goes well, I'll be detailing the buildup of my 1989 Mustang LX convertible. I'll be swapping the entire drivetrain from my donor car, a 1987 Thunderbird Turbo Coupe. The actual swap won't take place until October '04 because a) I have to first sell my Dodge to finance the project, and b) The car's just too much fun to drive during the summer with the top down! I'm currently in the process of accumulating parts and info. I hope to get everything finished over the winter, so it'll be ready by next summer. Let's see how it goes!

Purchased last summer for $1500. It came just like you see it. It's got 136k. I replaced the water pump, thermostat, fuel pump, oil pressure sending unit and valve cover gasket. Gave it a good cleaning and have been using it as my daily driver ever since!

Here's the donor car - 87 TC 5-spd, purchased for $500. Bought this off a guy on www.turboford.org and drove it home 200 miles without missing a beat!

Grabbed this off of Ebay for $1200. Yeah, I know that's alot. But I ran the numbers. It would have cost me well over $2k to get it the way I want! This was already done exactly the way I wanted! '88 Turbo block, .030 over, Wiesco's, Crower rods, balanced and blueprinted. Built by MDS Racing Engines in Texas. I'm happy!

Just to break the monotony, here's a photo of my other toy. A show winning '69 Dodge Dart. This pup was originally purchased for $100. To date, I've got way too much money, blood, sweat and tears invested in it. Drivetrain consists of a 340/727 combo mated to a narrowed 8 and 3/4 rearend. The color is '95 Pontiac teal blue metallic. This beast will be going up for sale real soon, so that I can finance the Thunderstang project. To see more of the Dodge, copy and paste the link below into your web browser address bar.

UPDATE! The Dodge has been sold for $14k and Thunderstang is now in the midst of teardown, finally! The goal is to at least have Thunderstang roadworthy by next summer - 6 months. Rather a lofty goal, considering my last project took 10 years!

And of course, I can't forget the family car! Our '95 Cadillac Eldorado.
