For the record. Not everyone that has a V8 is anti-import or anti-rice. I actually liked all the fast and Furious movies. There were times in both movies that I was thinking...only in Hollywood. But overall it was just movies about people going fast and about the lifestyle of a hardcore racer. I'm not going to lie, I'm no hardcore racer but if someone pulls up to a light and wants to go, I'll probably step on the pedal when the light turns green. But the big topic on cardomain is imports and domestics and rice. There is a diference in rice and imports. An eclipse is an import and a nice car. An eclipse with a monster wing, an exhaust tip, intake, outrageous amount of stickers, and a driver that drives like he wants to die is rice. I do not like that. I don't mind the stickers if the car is actually fast or the wing if it is really that useful but I still do not jump someone's case for doing stuff to their car. When someone gets a Toyota Corolla and puts an intake and exhaust on it...it does not bother me in the least. Its when they assume their car is absolutely the fastest thing on the road and brag about it is when it bothers me. Because there is nothing wrong with people making their cars better to themselves. Maybe they like the sound of the intake and exhaust..I dont but since its not my car or my money I'm not gonna get onto them. Its when they say they have the best car in town and all it has is some stickers, a wing, a body kit, exhaust, and pillar guages. I like cars, and cars dont make the person, the way people drive tells me more about the car than anything else.
Example. I was at KFC the other day and some guy in a Kia speeds into the parking lot, parks in 2 parking spaces longwise, gets out and pops his hood. Then starts talking to me like we sat next to each other in middle school. Of course I talk to him because he is interested in cars and is asking some generic questions about my car. He then shows me his engine which is bone stock and painted purple. Then he says, "check this out." He then proceeds to hit his nitrous button and makes a noise. But his nitrous isn't even hooked up. He doesnt have a bottle in his car. He just got the system and put parts of it on. There is some clicking noise. He then goes on to brag how it will put him over 200 mph, and he was serious. Immediately a red flag goes up and I ask him how in the world does he figure that it will go that fast? He claims that a sheriff buddy of his clocked him going 189 mph. I tell him no way, maybe on a good day going downhill with the wind at his back he can go 189 kilometers per hour. He then swears up and down he can go 189 miles per hour, and the nitrous will put him over 200 mark. All his car had was an empty speaker box, all season tires, stock engine, and a few stickers on it ("Type R" of course since Kia makes a "Type R").
