These next few pictures are that of my cars first "driveway photo shoot"
I consider myself to be somewhat of an amateur photographer (which by most standards would be laughable). For any of you out there who want to shoot your own photos here are a few good tips to make your pics look semi-professional...
1. Use a lot of low angle shots (lay on the ground if you have to and shoot up.)
2. Choose a location to shoot that doesnt have a cluttered background.
An empty parking lot or field with trees in the far background are ideal for this. This is a good idea because it is much easier to edit photos using photoshop, or even more novice photo editing programs when there isnt alot of activity in your background. (after viewing my shots you will realize that I contradict myself terribly, but of course Im too lazy to drive to a less cluttered location and I have more experience with photoshop so it isnt a problem)
3. Remember to always shoot in full sun with the sun above you (12 noon-2pm). If you want to shoot earlier or later than this, make sure that you position yourself and the car so that the sun is to your back. try not to get your shadow in the shot, but if you do it is easily edited out in programs like photoshop or photosuite.
4. For shots to use as posters go with a good sturdy 35mm camera. You dont have to break the bank though, a $20 deal at Wally World will be fine.
5. If you want your pics just for use on websites like these or normal picture sharing or printing, go with a 2-3 megapixel digital camera. It is much easier to plug and play than to scan all day...
6. Using a digital camera for poster shoots probably isnt a good idea, unless you have lots of money to spend on top quality high megapixel cameras. If you use a 2-3 megapixel camera you are not going to be able to print much larger than 8"x10" without getting a really grainy photo.
Just so you dont think that Im just some jerk trying to gloat about my skills, I would like you all to know that I am a computer graphics major in college not just some hill billy with a camera.
In the next few pics Im the fat guy in the Tux...yuk This was right before driving my ex and her friends to her their senior ball. Our local high school provides for seniors the opportunity to ride in a classic car to the ball provided that they pledge the "prom promise" (which basically states that participants promise to refrain from drinking.) Anywho, my car was one of the 14 selected to drive.
<---This is how I usually look...
Here are a few pics of the center console my dad built for me, its really cool, but what he doesnt know is that i want it chopped down to make room for some original front seats I found
Here are some pics of the interior mods Dad and I have made, including a custom made headliner, center console and recovered door panels.
