Hello, and welcome to my page!
I bought this car about a year ago for $1600, from a retired veteran who was too ill to take care of it anymore. My father met him where he works. He mentioned that he was selling his '74 Dart Sport and gave my dad his number. I gave him a call. As my rotten luck would have it the number was wrong... So I went on for a few months feeling blue. Another month had passed and my father came home with good news! The man (Rick)showed up where dad works again and told him the Dart was still for sale!! The very next day I called Rick up (this time with the right number) and that evening I went to see the car. It had sat in his buddys parking lot (of his shop) all winter but thankfully sustained no damage. I cashed my student loan check and the next day the car was mine! Who cares if I went without school books for an entire semester... (now all i have to worry about is paying back the state!)thats no prob...

It has a 318 with a 340 bore-increase and a single two barrel carb, and an automatic tranny (shifter on the column). It is in amazing shape for its asking price and has needed only about $150 to get it running...
***UPDATE*** This car is an on going learning experience for me and it has just come to my attn. that it is impossible to bore a 318 to a 340.

That was no big deal considering the engine was totally overhauled 4 years ago. It only has 9000 miles on the overhauled engine! The body alone was worth the $1600, it has no rust and 99% of the body is original. In the shot above and to the left you will see my Wal-Mart special seat covers! They are currently on a pair of bucket seats out of a 1989 Pontiac 6000 that was given to me by a friend when my other car went out. Hopefully I will one day find seats that match the car.
The back seat is in fairly good cond', but is an extremely horrid color of "midnight blue"...Unless I were to add a little white to the color scheme of the dart and go for a patriotic theme, I think it has to be recovered.
My first project vehicle was my dads old 1985 Dodge Ram van. We bought it in 1990 and it ran great until 1999. Thats when it started to fall into disrepair (it slung a rod and we never fixed it). I was just getting ready to fix her up when i found my Dart.
Heres a pic of the van...
A note for all of those Ricers...

DISCLAIMER: If anyone *cough cough ricer enthusiasts cough* are offended by aforementioned note, please take comfort in knowing that I dont hate ricers. Nor was the said aforementioned pictoral note meant to in any way enfuriate, anger, depress, sadden, knock down, burn, slam, appall, hurt the feelings of or dis anyone of the ricer persuasion in any way shape or form. In fact I think ricers are cool from what I have seen. I am no expert, but have no doubt that a few stickers on my dart will indeed increase the HP two fold...might even help the van. who knows.... thank you
