Just received my ND Performance Traction Control System (TCS). Also includes a 2-Step Rev Limiter so it'll be nice to have this at the track so i can build boost while taging. Then it'll assist with putting the power to the pavement.

It was time to change the brakes si I figured I might as well go all out. I ordered these Drilled & Slotted Rotors from Rotorpros.com & paired them with Hawk HPS pads, stainless steel brake lines, & synthetic brake fluid. They custom color matched the powdercoating to the electric blue of my car!

I then decided to change the color of the calipers so I orderd a G2 Caliper Paint Kit & went to town.

I pulled the bumper & polished my FMIC today. Nothing fancy... still learning.

Well... not sure what happened & neither does AGP but after about a month of Unusualy brutal snow storms & 2 blizzards here in Colorado... my Stage 3 turbo "Kicked The Bucket"! Ben at AGP said that most likely it was either contamination or something due to the crazy cold freezing the turbo seals/ pistons?
It was smoking bad & I had oil coming out my downpipe. The compressor blades were just *barely* starting to touch the comp housing thus leaving a silver-ish oily residue in there.

So unfortunately I needed a quick replacement to avoid downtime so I bought a brand new Stage 3 turbo off of a friend. The only bad part is I'm without the beautiful polished compressor housing :(

Here's a Stock SRT-4 Turbo versus a Mopar Stage 3 Turbo

...................................................................................................................................................................................................
10-17-06
Well... the new era begins. I ended up buying a used kit with a blown turbo. It needed a rebuild & AGP's been good to me so far so I sent it off for a rebuild. I took it a step further & had the good folks at AGP "pimp my turbo" with their ceramic coating & polish.

The pictures don't do it any justice... it looks absolutely amazing in person. I also had them include once of their famous Wastegate Actuators while they were at it. Thanks to Ben & the whole AGP crew for exceeding my expectation once again!

It's been a while since I've updated this section & there's a good reason for it too. I've decided to switch directions with my mod path after attending the 06 SRT Nationals. After watching everyone having a blast on the road corse & autocross... It was out with the AGP 50 Trim & in with the Mopar Stage 3.

This should simplify tuning, & spool up quicker at 6000ft altitude. This will allow me to compete in Road Racing & Auto Cross as well as still be very competitive Drag Racing. Since this is my daily driver, I think it'll increase my driving fun too!
Here's a look at the full kit. If you're looking for more info on this set up then go
HERE .

Picked up an MSD ignition so I can launch in boost with the 2 step rev limiter. It might be awhile before install since I have a few other projects I'm in the works on.

...................................................................................................................................................................................................
6-26-06 I finally got around to lowering the car. I chose to go with the Eibach Pro-Kit. Not too low, not too bouncy, doesn't need much alignmet, & is about --><-- this close to being level in the back (instead of raked forward).
Look at the difference in endlinks
How I took them apart without a spring compressor
No wheel well gap now...Yeah!

Here's the M&H Slicks I picked up off of a friend. They're 24.5x8.5.15" mounted on PT Cruiser Steelies. Now I just have to learn how to do a F-ing burnout without frying the clutch. I'm still working on my "driver mod" haha!

I decided to paint the yellow fluid caps in the engine bay

I also painted the Profec B remote to match the interior. I wanted it to look like it belonged there stock.

I just received my Aeroforce Interceptor OBDII scan tool. It can read most of the sensors the ECU sees. The main reason I bought it was so I can read what my Timing & Know Retard is for tuning purposes. It also clears check engine lights, has a shift light, 1/4 mile performance estimator... There's far too many other features to just discuss here. Just follow this link & check it out yourself.
AEROFORCE's WEBSITE
This is by far the easiest modification I've done yet to the car. Just plug it into the OBDII port under the dash & mount the gauge. TaDa... thats it!

I'm not sure where I'm going to mount it yet so I'll post some follow up pictures after I get it finished. Here's another club member's dat/ night installed pics to give you an idea.

Just knocked out a few little thing the past couple of days.
I FINALLY did the $20 Oil Catch Can mod. What can I say... I'm a procrastinator?

I also painted my Fuel Injector Cover. I used some factory matched paint I bought from mopar, used a silver paint marker for the lettering, & of course clear coated it. Came out pretty well for not putting much effort into it?

Now that I have the below described addition to my fuel system, I was able to downgrade from the 750cc injectors back to some 650cc. I know what you're thinking... why go backwards? It's for a few reasons.
First off, I'm at 5280+ft of altitude here in Denver with Bandimere Speedway being over 6000ft! That means less air which results in running quite rich compared to those at sea level with the same exact set-up. Really the 750's are overkill here. Another coSRToc memner just ran a 12.3 & 120mph on Drang Radials with a 50 Trim & 650's. That's 3rd place on our local SRT-4 drag times list & would easily be an 11 sec run on slicks.
Second it for longevity & safety purposes. The way any piggyback fuel computer work is like this. Anytime you want to dump less fuel, it tricks the ECU into thinking it's ingesting less air by lowering the MAP sensor signal. As a result, the ECU thinks it's getting less air when really it's not. The ECU will run more advanced timing as again it thinks there more room to work with. Too much timing + Boost + 91 Octane = Kaboom! Basically by running a smaller injector I don't have to pull out (trick the ecu) as much, therefore; my timing is much safer at Wide Open Throttle on my pump gas tune. On race gas it's not as much of an issue. Unfortunately my car is my daily driver & 90% of it's use in with pump gas on the street so this is where I'm focusing my attention for now.
...................................................................................................................................................................................................
4-27-06
Finished the AGP Fuel Returnline Kit. Since the SRT-4 uses a return-less fuel rail system, I've converted it over to return system utlizing a an Aeromotive rising rate fuel pressure regulator (RRFPR). Mopar sets the stock fuel pressure at 58psi static. Since I've also upgraded my pump & injectors, I'm dumping quite a bit of fuel in the low rpm's. Now I can back the base fuel pressure down to a more managable 40psi base. The RRFPR will now add 1 psi of fuel pressure for every 1 psi of boost the turbo builds. Basically I get fuel when I NEED it & not when I DON'T.
Now I can make large scale fuel adjustments with fuel pressure & then use the SAFC II to make the smaller fuel adjustments.

...................................................................................................................................................................................................
2-2-06 I installed my Poly Filled Stock Motor Mounts to reduce the engine flex under hard accelleration. This mods will replace my prothane MM inserts to further reduce wheel hop. I chose these over solid mounts as this is a daily driven street car & I don't ever want it to not be fun to drive. Solid mounts tend to transfer more vibration & noise to the chasis. It also offers no flexability which tends to snap motor mount bolts. These filled mounts are more forgiving.

It's been a while since I've done anything to my car & with spring right around the corner, I figured I better knock the dust off soon. I installed an AEM Wideband in a stock gauge pod right next to the stock boost gauge. I love how it looks like it came that way from the factory. The Wideband itself was super simple & took like 45 minutes max. It was a pain to custom mount that pod though. Putting it in an a-pillar pod would saved 3+ hours. Definately took a lot of patience & test fitting everything over & over.

I installed some 750cc injectors & will be off to yune on the dyno again. Not expecting much more power on pump gas, just a safer AF Ratio in the upper RPM's.

I just purchased & installed a new Walbro 255lph in tank fuel pump. Just one more step towards crackin' that 400hp barrier!

I'll be installing this, increasing the boost, & hittin' the dyno soon... So stay tuned!

I received & installed my new race Core Front Mount Intercooler from AGP today. It has a monsterous 24"x12"x4.5" Bar & Plate core.

Check out the thickness yo!

It makes the relatively nice sized FMIC that came on it stock look tiny!

Installed = MEAN... GRRRR!

I installed a few things this week. Here's some pics of my Greddy Profec B SpecII Electronic Boost Controller with the remote switching unit. This will let me switch from my low boost setting to my high boost settings after getting traction! I also installed some new dash LED's I picked up from www.autolumination.com in CFREE's Group Buy.

I installed some 650cc injectors this last week. So far so good! I turned the boost up to 17psi & so far there's a 300hp Evo & a 300hp NSX out there who can tell you about how my tail lights look from 3-4 carlengths back;)

I had GJ install my Modern Performance Downpipe today.

GJ also welded up a custom Cold Air Intake just like AGP sells except it's polished aluminum, with blue 4 ply hose couplers, & T-Bolt clamps. (These pics are before the welds were finished being polished out). FYI- we used (2) 3" ID 45 deg bends & (2) 3" ID 90 deg bends.

I finally got around to getting my 50 Trim & TurboXS manual boost controller installed!!!

I hit the parts with some 1200F hi-temp ceramic paint. As good as it looked with the blue ceramic paint, it kind of blended in too much with the firewall? No biggie as it'll all burn off over time anyways.

A little info on this kit for those who don't have an SRT-4 or have been living under a rock.
AGP's 50 TRIM uses a custom built Turbonetics T3/T4 turbo with .50 trim compressor & a .63 AR turbine side.
~ AGP's Quick Description ~
50 trim: Good all around turbo. Spools fast, and will make great power. This turbo is perfect for those wanting to run lower boost, and those who run only pump gas. If you plan to run nothing but pump gas, and want a good street turbo, then this is your turbo. Full boost should be right around 3100-3200rpms with a .63 A/R turbine housing. On our test cars, we've pulled over 420whp on pump gas at 23psi. The maximum boost is around 31-32psi where we have seen 500whp. If these numbers are big enough for you, then look no further and order a 50 trim. Its a $300 option because it is a custom built turbo, but well worth it.
~ Here's a full AGP Turbo Kit descriptions,& specifications, & other kits right off of their website ~

Based on AGP Turbo's testing & owner's personal results... in addition to the mods I currently have now, AGP's 50 Trim T3/T4 turbo kit should produce 280-300ish HP on pump gas.
A few pictures of the kit from off "the net".

The Mopar Stage 2 has been sold to make way for some new parts & my decision to go a different direction with my mod path.
I sold my Gunmetal TiAL BOV & purchased a new anodized blue TiAL BOV to go along with a TiAL 28mm wastegate of the same color.

Why would I need an external wastegate... Hmmm? To install my AGP 50 trim turbo kit of course! That will be next month after the polishing if finished!

Finished having a Custom 3" Downpipe & Exhaust made. GJ over at G&N Street Performance hooked it up. Here's some pictures of custom exhaust, external BOV flanged IC pipe & my ghetto modded stock intake.

The prototype IC charge pipe dubbed the "frank-n-snake"...grrr!

I just bought & installed the new NGK V-Groove Spark Plugs being carried by Mopar & gapped them to .40
The jury is still out as I haven't had much seat time with them yet?

5-2-04

Well I received my Stage 2 w/o toys this week & installed it last night. Took 3 hours with no real major issues as I was taking my time checking out a few other things alopng the way. I thought I'd be battling it out for a while with the heat shield but because I soaked the bolts in WD-40 first, they came loose with a little positive reinforcement from a breaker bar! I had to get creative with this due to the tight workspace.
I have to give the designers at Mopar & SRT credit as this was pretty painless. The quick connects on the fuel line are great. The injectors fit really well & seated the first time. All of sensors & electrical connector have a safety tab that you have to release first befor the connector can be removed. It's the minor details that make the difference!
Now I've been able to put about 40 miles on it today. Putt putting around town it doesn't seem any different...very well manered just like stock. But when you get into the throttle it really comes alive The power band seems broad & plentiful especially in the low to midrange. The power delivery seems smooth & fast up till 18-19psi easily! I'm no longer bouncing it accidently off the rev limiter in 1st gear. I'm sure I'll get some use out of the WOT shifting not to mention it's fun too! The car actually seems to surge ahead instead of slow for that instant while shifting
I'm happy with it despite the long wait... but it's definately worth the money!
I'm happy to say I'm not stock anymore & I'll keep you all posted on the results when I get it on the dyno within about 2 weeks.

Well it's official! I ordered the Mopar Stage 2 Performance Upgrade! I got it with out the turbo toys option. I figure that turbo toys was good for about 20hp at the track but zerohp on the street. A 3" turbo to tip exhaust is good for about 15hp - 20hp which is good ALL of the time, a better investment of my money.
Stock(2003) & Stage 1 Dyno's(similar to stock 2004 models).

Right now the car is stock as I'm awaiting the release of the Mopar Stage 2 performance upgrade at the SRT Nationals this week. The real world numbers & pricing will be a BIG determining factor in what direction I go (mopar or aftermarket route) as they are both closely priced. Here's the catch...both routes would need some supporting parts to maximize their potential. This is my daily driver (with the wife sporting it around too). It'll be about 3-4 months before my pocketbook will have re-cooperated enough to purchase anything else (sorry! It's all about priorities=D) Because of this factor there are some tradeoff's to consider.
1). Mopar S2 will be very smooth & streetable but net 265hp on pump gas but getting close to 280hp race gas (not too far off the pace of the next option).
STAGE 2 TURBO UPGRADE KIT
The Stage 2 Turbo Kits for the SRT-4 will give you a power
boost of 265 hp and 280 ft-lbs of torque on premium pump gas. For additional power you can also achieve 280 hp and 300 ft-lbs of torque on 100+ octane unleaded racing fuel.
• Stage 2 PCM
• Increased WOT and part throttle boost
