Page One: The Dream
And there it is... I was browsing Autotrader.com one day when i stumbled across this little beauty. Sure, I dont even have the money yet, sure, its 300 miles away, but I'm gonna buy it someday and then turn this website about a car that I am going to buy (as long as it doesnt sell before I get the cash) into a site about a car that I have! It's been a 4 month long dream to someday own an '88 Supra Turbo with Sport Roof and manual transmission. I have nearly enough now to buy it, it should only be a few weeks. I haven't even looked at it but I have called the owner, he says it is in good condition, save the cracked leather seats. I dont really care how much work must be done as long as the body is in good shape because I dont exactly have the equipment to do body work. I figure I can replace the seats with the leather buckets on Suprastore.com. Those are hot. Eventually, even if the engine dies I plan on replacing it with a nice 1JZ/2JZ or maybe even another 7M. As long as its turbocharged. I currently own a 94 Ford Probe. I began to do some work on it, however, I realized the small 2.5 liter naturally aspirated V6 doesnt have much potential and the product market for them is dying, making the parts expensive and hard to find. I will make my probie my winter car because I still love it and could never see myself selling it. I considered buying a Firebird or Mustang at first, but I am thoroughly attracted to the low sleek stance of the Supra and the fact that it is turbocharged. I also plan on putting a complete Rockford Fosgate system from subs to tweeters in there. Hopefully, removing the back seats to reduce weight and make room for the subs. The owner said the head gasket is probably going to have to be replaced soon which is no problem because I hear the 7m-gte head gaskets are notorious for that. Anyways, I should have the money within a month I'm sure. Anyways, leave some comments and any tips or opinions would be appreciated. I plan on buying this on the spot the first time I look at it if I like it. It's going to be a project car anyways, so I'm not afraid of a little work. I'll keep it updated.
