vwjunkie53's 1972 Volkswagen Beetle
Here are some pics of my '72 bug. It has run a best time of 11.9 @110. With the exception of installing the headliner and building the tranny, I did everything to this car including building the engine and the body work and paint job. It is Dupont chroma base/clear system.

The engine is a 48 IDA'd 2332, built at Archway, in St. Louis. I just took the motor apart to install Weisco pistons and Total seal stainless rings and lowered the compression in preperation for NOS. The transmission was built by Sam at Rancho. It is a "pro drag" with everything they can do to it for the most possible strength.

If you have any questions about my car, E-mail me @ vwjunkie53@sbcglobal.net.

Thanks Jason. I had the 86C in for the end of this summer, I love it!!! The car is way more streetable, the power is way smoother and progressive than the FK-87. No more nothing till 4500rpm, it just pulls from idle up. The jetting was really rich compaired to he Engle, so I don't know where to go now that I'm putting the new vents in. I'm thinking go up a couple of sizes on the mains, the idles should be good, maybe try one size down on the airs. I'll have another look at what I have in there and let me know what you think. Ya, I'm planning to gear it for 26" slicks, I have the 215/65x15 M&H DOTs (also 26' tall) for the street, they are really nice by the way. Thanks again Rob

Thanks for the compliments on my Bug. I've already got some 42mm vents for the IDAs, I have to re-jet it though. Where do you get your jets from? Check out the rebuild page and it has some pics of the vents, I switched to a WebCam 86C now too. What ratios do you have in your trans? I'm getting one this year I've already got a 3.88 r/p and a swing ZF diff. I'm leaning towards 4.11/2.47 m/s with a 1.71/1.25 3rd, 4th. Do you think these would work? Thanks again Jason.
