CAR STEREO INSTALL - TOTAL COST - US$500 INCLUDING EVERYTHING [Yes, I mean EVERYTHING =)]

You ever have a friend that like to brag about the thousands of dollars he has dumped into his car audio system?

Why do people do this? Is it cool to brag about how much of an dope you are by throwing your money away for something that still sounds like distorting crap? I am in no way saying that my system is THE best because it's not even close, but I have heard equivelent system that cost 3-4 times more.

My system barely even cracked the US$500 mark and leaves all passengers clearing and trying to de-ring their ears. My favorite quote was "My hair is vibrating!" =D

The common comment is "WTF! 500?"

SPECIFICATION PAGE

By far one one the best investments I have made in this whole system was this head unit. Not only does it sound great, but the feature list is second to none and it is rock solid.

And I am so lazy I can't reach over to the player, so I use the included steering wheel remote so I can keep my eyes on the road.

Here is a link of a small video of my unit in action.

*Note:* The distortion is not my car system, but the camera microphone overloading. HeHe.

I know, I know, BOOOOOOO! He isn't using a Class D block. But I have my reasons in this case. One, These Sony ES series are hard to find and are touted to be one of the finest 2 channel amps made. This 1999 MobileES Model is NOT AN XPLODE. MobileES is the last series where Sony was considered a quality name in car audio and since then, they have gone to mass-produced crap I think in 2000.

I will tell you one thing though, they live up to the name Xplode!.......BANG! I will never have ANY Sony Xplode garbage ever disgrace my truck. No offense to any Xplode owners.

This amp is very efficient (17A MAX Draw) and barely even gets warm.

SUBWOOFERS

2 10" Pioneer TS-W254C Composite Cone Subwoofers.

These suckers hit HARD.....

-Direct Mounted VCCS (Voice Coil Cooling System)
-MAX Power 500watts
-Rated Power 250Watts RMS

Some audiophiles really give Pioneer subwoofers a hard time saying they are budget junk. Well, if you want to pay 10 times the price for the same sound, "I" will laugh all the way to my bank. I have listened to subwoofers much more expensive than these pioneers pictured above and I'll let you in on a little secret. There was no difference other than my friend having a much lighter wallet.
