V6RSR’s Chevrolet Camaro

    • Currently 3.2/5 Stars.

Wilwood parts 12.90"x1.25 SRP rotors and Aluminum hats, 6-piston radial mount calipers, Global West billet aluminium "G-body" hubs (Roadrace worthy on a 4000# vehicle).Right picture shows the stock 10.5" Camaro rotors, next to the 12.9" Wilwoods (Wilwood only weights 0.6 lbs heavier in this picture compared to the rear stock rotor. I'll have to get a weight comparison of the assembly with aluminium hub fitted opposed to the stock front rotor with 1pc hub incorperated into it)

Ordered different brackets instead and redirect setup to involve a spare bracket for caliper to spindle mount (Simular to the 1LE design somewhat). Newer 3.5" radial mount bracket on left, opposed to the first attempt 5" spread and different offset/ radius mount pattern on right.
Parts prefitted to some stock F-body spindles. Altering spindles simular to 1LE spindle specs. Test fit- Radial mount brackets aren't correct for planned setup.

Decided to go about this in a more professional manner. I cannot set up this myself symetrically and pretty without a CNC mill. Ordered the above specs through E-MachineShop online. Right picture is my finished CAD design.

.700" thick Aluminum Brackets from EMachineShop, They are also clear Ceramic coated to reduce heat tranfer and expansion.
Spindles finished. All pot metal castings deburred and edges rounded for lightness in all non-crucial areas, then coated for surface protection.

Everything fitted and perfectly centered. Now to get wire-tie bolts and custom lines made.

13's Wilwoods next to 10.5 Stillen rotors. Right pic:Apples-to-apples weight comparison of direct replacement parts from one setup to the other is jsu over 3 lbs weight savings, and 2 1/2" larger even!

@JMAKK- Its not called a "Limited RS"- The production run of RS Camaro was limited to sales in "California only" the first year of production and were also only availiable in 3 colors: Black, White, or Red. I mentioned "1st year limited Calif edition" right after the comment of the dealer paint scheme because it was White from the factory and then dealer customised. In 88 they made the RS availiable across the US in more color choices.
