Dana 300 Twin Sticks
Having a full Detroit in front will make tight, twisty trails more difficult to maneuver through. With a Dana 300 t-case you can build a twin stick set up so that you can stay in low range, but disengage your front axle so that you can have tighter steering in those situations. The kits cost about $120 so I decided to build my own. I saw this once on the web and adapted it to my situation, so I can't take credit for the idea, I can't find it again to give credit, but if I find it I'll post a link here.
Here's the parts, 2 pieces of 5/8 I.D. pipe cut into 2" pieces, tabs with a 5/8 hole drilled in them and welded to the pipes with a 1/4" hole drilled in the center of the pipe, 2 stock D300 sticks, the hole on the inside stick must be drilled to 5/8.
Here they are mounted on a spare D300, I used washers as bushings because it was all I had lying around.

Bench mounted on the spare t-case. Everythings working at this point, but I'm going to have to heat and bend the sticks so they work in the Frog.
Here's the almost finished piece. I still need knobs and I've got to paint that chrome piece flat black. Not the prettiest, but it was absolutely FREE!!
