I have always enjoyed the TV series Knight Rider*, and when I purchased my 1983 Pontiac Trans Am, I worked hard to make my car look as much like the TV show car as possible.
My Trans Am is equiped with a lot of special features that most Trans Ams don't have. A power winch is one good example. It can pull itself out of the mud or another vehicle if it needs too. I can access most of my options through the various buttons. Some other features it has is a police radio frequency scanner, a radar jammer, auxilary lighting, 110 volt inverter, VCR, DVD, Super NES, Performace computer, Vidio System with multi zone camaras, new sound system, etc.
I don't often drive my car around because of the amount of time and money that I have invested in it. But my car always does atract quite a bit of attention when I do take it out on an ocassional run to the drive through.

I work on a farm so I don't have a lot of time to work on my car in the summer, but I do have the freedom to work on it more in the winter for large uninterupted periods of time. That is a nice perk of my job. I guess everyone needs a hoby.

I have a lot of fun driving my car after dark. People will pull up behind my car at night, and slow down and follow me for quite a ways, looking at all the lights and displays. Then they will slowly pull around me and study the dash more closely as they pass me.

I did take my car to a drag race once. It wasn't a "real" race, but just an exhibition race. Yes that is my car with the smoke comming from it's back tires. It is a lot of fun to see a Black "T" Topped Trans Am running down the track with the scanning light bar on. Especially when the announcer in the booth plays the theme music to Knight Rider* during the run.

Some people think I suffer from Michael Knight* fantisies. I don't get it, do you?

Lastly I thought you would like to see one of the car shows I attended. The picture on the Left is of a father and his son. The father got so excited when he saw my car. He was almost yelling as he was showing his son the buttons and telling him the functions they performed on the TV show. The picture on the Right is of my car "driving itself" in a parade that day.
The trick to the car driving itself was achieved the same way that Universal Studios did that same stunt in the Knight Rider* series. I built a special seat using a picture of the seat Universal used. It was a lot of work to make but the end result was worth the effort. Check out the close ups of my stering adapter, and also zoom in to the kids trying to look in the car in the parade.

I hope you have enjoyed these pictures as I know I have enjoyed taking them. Please feel free to leave a comment. I hope you have a great year, and get out and enjoy your special set of wheels.
