firebirdlover123's 1978 Pontiac Trans Am

This is my 78' Pontiac Trans Am. I have done substancial work on it since I have had it. I purchased it in the summer of 2001 from a pawn shop. It was rusted through in many spots, but about a year and a half ago I had it painted. The original color was Chesterfield Brown, but I painted it a gold color. No, it is not the original gold color. I found this color in one of my friends color code books and decided that I wanted it to look different. I think it came out all right, but you guys can let me know.

Recently I had the interior redun and also got the trunk carpeted. I even put in a stereo system, but nothing outrageous.

Next on the list is going to get an engine rebuilt, but I'm gonna wait till it finally dies before I do that. I don't know if it ever will. It has the 6.6 ltr 400 and I think when I do get it rebuilt I will keep it original. Maybe a mild cam and some other small mods, but basically stock. Later, I will add some of the pictures that I took from when I bought it and some interior shots.

Hey, I like the paint. It actually does look like an original color, its not crazy or wild, but still slick looking. As far as the dash, same yourself the time and effort and pick up a full plastic dash cover. They really do come out great.

Nice TA. Good job with the resto so far. I have a 78 TA too so check out mine sometime. If you like classic streetrods, then my site is the place to go also. Keep up with the hard work and keep the new pics coming.

Hey, I think your TransAm looks great. The color is cool. 1977 and 78 are my favorite years for the firebird. They just have that go fast look. Your best bet is to keep it as stock as possible, because look its 27 years old now and its fast becoming a true classic. Let me know when you get more pictures.
