Folks, this is actually my second member page on CarDomain. The first one is "Yukkie". On that page, you can see the 1998 GMC Yukon SLT I purchased December 1, 2003. It's a gorgeous SUV, but it never was what I really wanted.
That truck was traded for the awesome 2000 TAHOE LIMITED you see here -- the one I have wanted for years. I can accurately say "wanted for years" because my wish to have a truck like this began with the black Typhoon back in the mid-90s. The all black paint, with bold stripes, outstanding rims and ground effects made the Typhoon "the truck of my dreams" -- that is until the 2000 Tahoe Limited was introduced late in 1999. Since then, I have wanted a Tahoe Limited Edition. Now, thankfully, I have one!

My 2000 Tahoe Limited was purchased January 23, 2004 -- with only 53k miles. I have already been able to add a K&N filter, a black grille bowtie w/ red accent, chrome valve stems, APC clear corners, black bowtie w/ red trim, APC diamond cut bumper lights, TYC carbon fiber Elegante taillights, a 200W Pioneer DEH-P4500MP AM/FM/CD-RW/MP3/XM deck and a set of new Pioneer TSA4103 4"x10" speakers. I also had a Thrush Glasspack muffler installed, complete with 4" chromed SS slash tip. This Tahoe Ltd. not only looks great, it SOUNDS GREAT -- and it MOVES quickly, too!
UPDATE 2/23/04:
Over the weekend, I added a Helix Power Tower Plus (throttle body spacer), B-Quiet "Brown Bread" sound damping material and black vinyl door sills.
I don't know if it's the expectation of more power, but the Tahoe sure seems faster in the 2000~4000RPM range after installing the TBS. I did a couple of very primitive 1/4 mile runs (measured using the odometer & my analog chronograph watch). The time was ~15-16 seconds -- with a top speed of ~90-91MPH. I'll try to get something more concrete soon!
UPDATE 3/06/04:
No big update, but my personalized plate came in this week. Dark tint was also added. It gives the Tahoe a sleek look not matched by many other trucks! ~ I hope to have some new pics online soon. ~
The Tahoe SS / Limited History Page has also been updated with more info and new, rare pictures!

The good news for someone who drives nearly 80 miles round trip every day is -- this Tahoe gets xx.x MPG (make that 17.5 MPG now) with current mods. The government's fuel economy test yielded only 13 MPG! Supposedly, the K&N filter, the Helix TBS and muffler help with MPG. I'm researching MAF sensors and chip programmers as means to gain even more MPG. [I'll let you know what I learn.]

So, what's next? Right now, I'm looking to add only a few more mods as this is a daily driver; I'm a 40ish business man -- and I have three small children. SO....
I'll probably add:
- a carbon fiber dash trim kit
- a set of Z71 style black flared fenders
- a set of 6.5" woofers or 2-way spkrs in the back doors
- white or silver 120mph gauge
- new diamond cut headlights
THANKS for checking out my ride!
