Page 4: T-top Conversion(some pics of my conversion)
T-top conversion on my 2000 Camaro.
COMPLETED! (and yes they are leak free)
This is a small write up and account of my 4th gen t-top conversion. I have owned 3 Camaros from 85 to my 2000 and all have been hardtops. So I convinced myself DO THE CONVERSION!
I looked around for some kits, most affordable for an entire kit was www.tacreationsusa.com they quoted me ~$600 for the parts. I felt that was a little high and thought I would piece together my parts from other places.
So far this has been my budget
-Passenger Side t-top on ebay $75 + $17.10 shipping = $92.10
-Driver Side t-top on ebay $125 + Free shipping(guy had more then one set and offered it to me for $125 and free shipping since the one I was bidding on I lost)
-Re-keying of t-tops(I did it myself, just pulled the cam lock out and pulled out the pins myself, I removed 2 out of the 4 pins so my door key would work.
-Center trim piece $12.99 + $10.95 shipping = $23.94
-Rear interior trim pieces(cover rear t-top receivers) $9.50 + $5.20 shipping = $14.79
-T-top recievers and T-top holders = $30 shipped
-A-pillar pieces and T-top weatherstripping = $50 shipped
Total = $335.83

Also here are some links to sites that have helped me on this endeavor to convert to T-tops.

I had the help of a local friend name Mark, he is known as 5LiterEater on most boards and was one of the firsts to do the conversion on his Electron Blue Lt1 Camaro.
I wont lie, he was definitely the brains of the operation, even researching he was the big help. Here are some pics of our progress Im in the black polo and JD hat, he is in the gray tank top.

Some tips we came up with, that we havent noticed to much in other writes up that we came across
-If you are doing this in an apartment complex garage, expect to get booted for sparks and noise.
-On the main cuts, leave the factory headliner in, this will help make clean up a lot easier, and protect your interior.
-cheap wood chisels and a few hammers work great on getting through welds(save time over drilling them out)
-Air-tools, especially an air hammer is nice, and quicker then wood chisels and hammers
