Well Its that time of year again, And its been quite a year.
Well, after the wagz sitting in the shed for more than 12 months , due to change in jobs, new baby Breeanna Kaye was born on the 20th May and a morgage. I got sick of not driving it. So I made up my mind to do something about it. After all I built my car to drive, not to gather dust in the garage!!
A good tax return this year has enabled me to spent a few bucks on the poor neglected 808 wagon.
So a few weeks ago BAD808 went for a small holiday in Toowoomba at T.A.S. Performance Automotive.
(this is the first time in over 8 years that it has spent a night away from home
)
Matt & Tom Horton were a pleasure to deal with, reassuring an over protective parent (it is our first born) and keeping me informed on what was going on. And even sorting a little clutch drama that developed on the way up the range.
Saturday morning dawned bright and chilly. I was up at 6 am on my day off waiting with anticipation for the rest of the family to get up and get ready. 12 week old babys are not the easiest people to get going of a morning.
We finally got underway and it was a pleasant trip to the "t-bar".
We arrived aproximatley 10.30, and as we pulled into the driveway, there it was parked in the driveway. After a quick walk around to check it out, I went inside to see Matt and pay the bill. We had a chat about how it all went. A respectable gain in HP up to 150+.

We talked about the Jamboree, this and that, but my mind was on BADBOB.
In short time I was out side climbing into the drivers seat. It started first turn of the key and a whole new noise barked out.
A new Stainless Steel Exhaust system makes a huge difference. The sound was amazing. It has never sounded so good. It has a real bark now.
I sat there and listened to it warm up with a huge grin on my dial, you know, that sound we all love and everyone else hates. A ported rotary, brap brap brap. I was in heaven.
After a few minutes it was up to temp and I reversed out the driveway and selected first gear to cruise up the hill trying to behave myself as Nicky and the kids were following me in the Falcon. I gave it a few squirts and found it was way more responsive than I remember. Top up of BP ultimate fuel and we are on our way back to Ippy. It felt like everyone was looking at me as the sound was impressive, a quick squirt and back off and the big bag of the backfire was fantastic. Down the range with it cackling away just off idle.
All the way back I couldnt wipe the smile off my face.
So now with the passion burning again I decide to see if I can give it a run down the drags. What better than the jambo a few weeks ago.
I had a ball, Racing in the ALL MOTOR class is great fun. I met some great new people and caught up with some old mates. Its Dial YA Own racing so I didnt have to set the world on fire.
I was so rusty at the start of the weekend, not racing for over 2 years will do that to you. I got my reaction down to a respectable 404. But my 60 foots really suffered as the tyres I had on just wouldnt hook up. 2.2 seconds was my best for the weekend and my et was down too. 14.50 was the best.
Anyway I won the first round but the second round I had MAJOR brain fade. I went WAAAY to early and pulled a .2** red light. But I ran it out the back to a 14.505 quarter on a 14.500 dial in.
