1975 Mazda 808 Wagon

Modifications
The Standard 1300 engine has been removed and a 13B rotary engine has been bolted in. It has been extend ported and has a 48ida weber carb. series2 RX7 electronic ignition. The gearbox is out of a RX7 series 4 turbo. A custom 3in tail shaft connects to a Borg Warner 4 pinion, 28 spline lsd- 411 gears.
There is a Selby-Whiteline 24mm adjustable front swaybar and Koni adjustable front and rear shocks.
The brakes have been improved by adding Volvo 4pot calipers and vented rotors to the front. The rears are XF Ford Falcon Disks and calipers. They are boosted by an RX3 brake booster.

Inside the cabin is cobra race seat with RPM 4 spot racing harnesses. Momo formular steering wheel and gear knob. Autometer monster Tacho, And VDO gauges. New carpet, retrimmed door pannels, RX3 dash and center console, Apine stereo system and the back seat has been removed.

Outside the paint is standard original at the moment, I like to call it "Baby Shit Brown". hahahah. The next thing to do is the re-spray. I have a color in mind, but as ive changed my mind 10 times in the last twelve months, im not gunna put in down for every one to see till its done !!
The wheels are Simmons F15 with 205x50x15 tyres all round.

I decided to build a car to enjoy, I wanted to do drag racing, hill climbs, track days etc. But still be able to drive it daily to and from work. I Have been a rotary fan for years, and after driving my brothers 808 wagon while on holidays, I decided that i have to have one with a rotary in it. When i got home I started looking for the parts. Back in october 1998 I purchased the stock standard wagon and did all of the work myself including the fitting off the RX3 dash and wiring, I registered it in july 1999 as a 13b rotary engined wagon. The motor was rebuilt with new housings in march 2000 after coolant started leaking into the rotor housings, (A few weeks before my wedding, thanx Nicky), I wasnt very popular, hahahaha. Almost 4 years later the motor is still going strong, and a few months ago, set its fastest quarter mile time of 13.900 seconds @96.36mph.

I set a new pb tonight 19/05/04 at Willowbank raceway 13.85 @ 96.48 mph with a 1.91 60 foot
