This is a Special Edition 1979 Buick Skyhawk called a ROAD HAWK. Essentially it is a silver Skyhawk with the 'Y43' Road Hawk option package which included special front air dam, rear spoiler, quarter panel extensions, dark grey paint and red pinstriping with hawk and 'ROAD HAWK' decals and, of course, the special Road Hawk seats. This option was only avaiable on 1979 and 1980 Buick Skyhawk's.

I won the car on ebay in November, 2003, flew to Phoenix, Arizona to buy and pick it up and drove it home to Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It needs new paint, decals and pin striping but all the Road Hawk special features are present (the front air dam is busted but being reproduced). It requires some work, but a rust-free, mostly complete car is a good start.

I used to have one of these, loved it, it was so unique looking at the time. Everyone was always asking questions about it. I had it in the mid to late 80's, so it was fairly recent then. I had a few things done to the car. I had the Weiand/Smokey Yunick intake which was quite the intake for that motor. As a matter of fact I still have the intake waiting to be put on another Buick V6.

Great taste in cars man. Love that Road Hawk. My neighbor had that model years ago and drove it til the paint was completely faded and the doors were sagging off it, but the V6 was still purring!

WOW! I got one of these when I was in high school. My brother got it new, and I got it from him. I was thinking about it and googled ROADHAWK. Ended up here. The memories brought back seeing your car are many and pleasant. It was an automatic, and exactly the same as yours. I was 17 at the time. I hit a parked Studebaker in it and totalled it. (Drunk). Please take care of that! I hope your tach works, mine always jumped around. John, 38scv6@gmail.com
