Get a downpipe and a catback or full turbo back. Then an ECU like Accessport, Accessport 2 is coming out soon.

I actually have a subaru magazine that has some great beginner, intermediate, and advanced mods ideas and one of the first it says is an ECU, but in my opinion if you're planning on upgrading quickly i would go with a turbo back exhaust (TBE) along with an aftermarket uppipe, i went with TurboXS and i'm getting ready to buy the TurboXS uppipe, it's 2.5 inches, which is the same as the out of the turbo.
another thing after the exhaust, you could look into the Cobb AccessPort, with TBE and 93 octane Cubbtuning.com says 285hp

You should check out www.gaydm.com. It's a Kansas City based site/forum for car people that I help run. If you still have any questions about mods and all that we can help answer. One of our members has a wrx with about 400 hp. Check it out, go to gaydm.com, and click forums.

feel free to check out clubwrx.net its the best place to be. no flaming and plenty of help. for now, i'd check out the cobb accessport and an uppipe and downpipe. depending on what models you get, you'll spend around $1000 and have a very fast car. also, get new tires!!!! the re92's suck. good luck :)
