Working, P&P, machining, weld ins, randomly grinding and building the V6 heads.
This is what they looked like when I pulled them in spring of 2002.

It's safe to say they have come a very, very long ways from when I pulled them.

The heads are cast iron stock and come with 85cc intake ports, 57cc combustion chambers and 60cc exhaust ports. That's what I got when I cc'ed them.
(All of every thing done to these heads was by me).
The only porting and polishing that is complet in these pictures is the combustion chamber.
The intake and exhaust ports arn't quite done here.
Also the valves are polished(be me), I reused the orginal valves.
This is one other type internal mod for the heads.

The heads have a EGR passage cast into them here I am getting ready to block it off. I wanted to block it off to smooth out the exhaust flow and with that cavity blocked off the heads should absorb a little less heat from the sitting exhaust.
Welding cast iron isn't fun. oil_pan_4's 1985 Chevrolet Camaro
Here are the port inlets ot the cylinder heads. The little fin sticking up in the intake port is the "fuel mixer" For porting I will shape it so it will have an agressive shark fin profile. Tests have shown this thing imprives cylinder head flow 17% over a plain rectangular port.

This is what I mean by shark fin.
Here are the heads after porting.

I made some extra push rod clearance for the 1.6 rockers and extra cam lift, just incase.
You can see the fresh grind that makes room for the push rod and the stock casting to the top and bottem of the intake manifold bolt hole.

I had to work the valve guides to avoid retainer to valve seal contact on the exhaust side, were .630'' now there .530''

The under sides of the heads after the valves are installed.

Its been a while since you've had a comment! Hows the progress coming? I did a very similar PP job on my V6 heads. I have some intake questions if you dont mind.
