67buickman's 1967 Buick Skylark Here is my first car- a 1967 Buick Special Deluxe. These pictures are 2 1/2 years old, but I'll be getting some more recent ones soon. It has a 340 cid V-8 4 bbl. This car is based on the same platform as the more plush Skylark and of course the much more awesome Gran Sport.

67buickman's 1967 Buick SkylarkThe car is very similar to the Gran Sport, having the same body, except with four doors, and the same interior. Look at page 2 for some sweet GS pics!67buickman's 1967 Buick Skylark

67buickman's 1967 Buick SkylarkToo bad it doesn't have the same motor! Well, my dad used to have a '71 GS, but that was when I was too young to know what he had. He sold it because it was a New Jersey car, and was starting to rust from the underside. So he bought this, a South Carolina Car for its entire life. It was in completely stock shape when he bought it.

Within a couple of years the paint literally peeled off, so I talked my dad into a body resoration. We did all of the work ourselves, except for the actual painting. The body was completely covered in surface rust, but we fixed that! Since then I have bought the car from my dad, and started replacing things. First, the 2-speed powerglide croaked, so I got a TH350. This past May the original 300 2bbl threw a rod and left gaping holes in the block!!! I pulled two pistons out with my bare hands. It sheared the connecting rods, and tore the cam into a zillion peices! So I replaced it with a '66 340, and that took me a couple of days to do! After the new engine went in I had 2.5" flowmaster duals installed. It sounds SWEET! I replaced the stock wheels and hubcaps in the pictures with Buick 14" 5-spoke rally wheels.

I had a 67 Special Deluxe. I notice that none of your pics show the "Deluxe" moniker that is located below and just to the right of the Special on the drivers side quarter panel. Can you post one that shows the Deluxe?

How's the Buick logo on your grille? the Red in mine is completely faded, and I'm looking for a new one. If you want to sell it or trade with me b/c I'd really like a nicer one. Thanks, hopefully it's not sold by now.
