"My late Dad used to adjust drums until he couldn't turn the wheel by hand - then BACK OFF 13 CLICKS. Still works well the last time I tried it -thanks, Dad!" --6-bangertim --

I am still working on the AC install.  Sill a hundred little things to go.

I put her together enough to go to the Reliable show.

This has been a tough winter. I don't want to be Alan hard times, but it was had to stay on task and motivated.  However, I did get out last weekend to watch the boys drag race at the Texas Muscle Car Challenge.  Check out full coverage at http://www.dallasclassicchevy.com/phpBB2/index.php

Here are some event photos I stole from the club web site listed above.

The Dallas Area Classic Chevys had it's monthly event at "Hot Texas Nights" in Hurst, Texas.  The event was held by the Christian Classic Cruisers.  Great event.  We a little less than 20 cars and won the club participation award.

stronga's 1957 Chevrolet 150My show favorite.

stronga's 1957 Chevrolet 150A neighbor had a car just like this when I was growing up. I always coveted that car.  He said, he would never sell the car and hadn't when I moved away.   I have always wondered if he still has it.

stronga's 1957 Chevrolet 150On the way home from the show one of my club mates noticed that my tail lights were out.  I had known that my dash board lights were out but little did I know they were connected to the tail lights.  To get home I hooked up my jumper box to the lights to make them work long enough to get home.

I tackled my tail light problem.  Lucky, it was just a blown fuse.  To be able to get the the fuse box and to fix one of the seat brackets, I took the seat out.  I took out the head light switch to be able to trace the wires. The orange and pink wires are the ones I worked with.  To undo the bolt that holds the light switch I used a 1 inch wood chisel.  When I was putting the switch back in all of a sudden the last wire was hanging down disconnected.  After some frantic searching I found it's connector.

stronga's 1957 Chevrolet 150 I was happy to see that the Old Girl made it onto the promotional card for next years Texas Thaw event to be held in Denton, Texas.

I spent 12 hours yesterday cleaning up the rats nest of wires under the dash.  Most of my time was spent cleaning up the radio, and tachometer wires.  I need to buy a new gage set to finish up the remainder of the wires. I finally fixed the radio so now it plays music.  While running new speaker wires I built an insulated partition to place behind the rear seat.  Still have tons of sand that falls out of some where all over the the trunk from sand blasting years ago.  I wonder if that will ever stop.

I fixed the A/C wire on the fuse block that kept falling off.  Also, I took the door panel off to find out why the window was suck up.  Only had to clean all the moving parts with WD40 then grease them up to make the window functional again.
