My wife kicked me out of the house so I went to the Sachse, 4th Annual Cars Under the Stars car show. 225 cars were in attendance and I won the Tri-Five Chevy Class. Fun show.

Today, Sunday, I have a paying gig. A couple is celebrating their 50th Anniversary asked my club to be driven to their celebration hall in a Tri-Five Chevy and I volunteered.

Working the summer schedule, I had Friday off from work. I got up early to beat the heat and worked 4 hours cleaning, vacuuming, and reinstalling the rear seat belts and engine fan shroud. I had looked for my rear window hand cranks I had lost during my floor pan repair, however; I was unable to find them. Therefore, I bought a new set on eBay. At this time, I only put on rear window cranks, saving the remainder for when I buy a new interior. I also glued together the front bar grill emblem. I broke emblem twice trying to custom fix it. It looks tolerable.

I tried to put on a gasket around the head light trim. The grove seems too small and after a couple of failed attempts to install the gasket, I gave up.

A fun day of car show hopping.  I took a drive to Lancaster, to see the DFW Wing of the CAF that held its second Annual Warbirds on Parade/Car Show then swung to the Invasion car show in down town Dallas.

I have been having break problems for a while with the driver's side front drum. Under hard breaking on a slick surface the passenger side would lock up and the driver's felt like it was not working.   I suspected a wheel cylinder was the culprit since when I replaced the brake pads I saw fluid and rust in the plunger holes.  I bought a new wheel cylinder from Danchuck to see if that will fix the problem.  When I took off the brake drum I forgot again, that you had to take the whole hub off to get the drum off unlike my old 69 Chevy where the drum pulled off the hub.  Once I got the drum off I found part of the front pad had broken off the shoe.  So, I ordered new shoes from Danchuck and have to wait for their delivery.

At the Lone Star Good Guys Show I bought a rear trunk emblem off a 55 Chevy.  I had to buy the front emblem well because it was a package deal.  When I tried to put in on my 57-150 I found the bolt holes did not line up therefore I had to re-use my old emblem but replaced the plastic insert.

My wife and I joined the Dallas Area Classic Cruisers for a tour from Dallas to the Brazos drive in theater in Granbury, Texas.  After checking out a Corvette show in the square, the wife and I made a round of the shops.  We placed some money back into the economy then joined up again our fellow club members for dinner at Babe's Chicken Dinner House.  Stuffed, we drove to the drive-in to see Bat Man "The Dark Knight."

Tried to tie up some loose ends.  I changed the oil and filter. (a PH-30) filter.  The radio would not keep its memory.  After a hour of trouble shooting I found a couple of grains of sand in the in-line fuse.  Without the sand the power once again is going to the radio.  I wished I had never sand blasted in the inside of the old girl.  The sand will never stop falling out from under the dash.

Thank you for the compliments on my car! If you haven't already, please take a moment to vote for my '69 Camaro on the Texaco Car of the Decades contest at texacocarofthedecades.com. Currently a Crossfire, Pacer and Smart Car are leading the overall category and a VW bug is catching up to me fast in my decade. Help!
