A Turbo called "Lightening"
Bought: September 2000 for $3000
My very first car that I owned (not my parents) was 1988 Pontiac Firefly Turbo. It was a great little car that I owned for 3 years. I took it all over southwestern BC: Kelowna, Cranbrook, Revelstoke, Fernie, Castlegar, just to name a few. It was a little 3 banger, but because of the Turbo, this thing had balls!
A put a bit of work into it during the 3 years, mostly just upkeep but in January of 2003 it started acting up. I took it into the GM dealership and they put in new spark plugs, spark plug wires, and router. My belief is that they did something to mess up my electrical when they did that because soon after, i would sometimes not have lights and a stereo and sometimes I would. When the summer came, I thought the problem had been resolved because it didn't do anything bad for about 6 months. Then one night in Kelowna I was driving home from a friends house at about 2am and the lights went off...then on....then off....then on. And after that, they haven't worked since. So right now it sits at my parents house as a lawn ornament.
