this is my 1972 camaro.it was bought for me for fathers day from my sons.it looked nothing like this and if you had seen it before you probly would have thought it should be in a junkyard.
first of all the body was stripped to the bare bones shell. the floors were replaced in the front with repo panels then the complete front clip was removed then the subframe , all new bushings were then installed .the bodywork was started then the frame rail on the left side was rotted so we then repaired it,while we were there we connected the frame rails for more stability. after the bodywork was finished, which included replacing both quarter panels, rocker panels, both doors, and the right front fender,i sprayed the champagne gold stripes on then the viper red . the clearcoat came next . after curing time the chrome and lights were installed .as for the interior,it has 86 buick skyhawk seats, and new carpet, other than that its original.since these pictures were taken,i have added a new set of wheels which are american racing 200s series wheels,15x8 up front and 15x10 in the rear.this took 1 year and 3 weeks to complete .
this is the engine,it is a 402 bored .030" over.it is built to stock 1972 specs with the exception of an edelbrock performer intake, and a summit cam with .510" of lift(mild).it is backed by a muncie M-21 four speed going to a 3.42 geared posi rear end.
this is a pic of the right rear quarter before we started working on the car.
this used to be my 71 buick gran sport 455 stage 1.i bought it in 73 and sold it in 96.
this is a 70 skylark(gs clone) that i painted for a friend.i also sold him the 455 thats in it.
