1965 GT Mustang

rcd716fsu's 1965 Ford Mustang

Got the car back a couple of weeks ago. Been raining around here lately so haven't washed and taken pictures of it. Details on build:
Engine: 302 Roller Motor
Cobra Internals(crank/rods)
Cobra coated forged pistons
Cobra Billet Camshaft
Stock heads, ported
Dual plane low rise intake
600 cfm holley 4 bbl

Transmission: T-5 5 speed out of
late model 5.0 mustang.
Was built to handle 400+hp
Hurst Ripper Shifter
Ford Racing Clutch

The car hauls ass now. 2700 pound car with over 300 hp. Unfortunately since she has an open rear end it won't hook up. I'll be ordering a locker, ring and pinion, and larger rear tires soon.
Does anyone know the specs on a cobra camshaft out of a 5.0 mustang? If you do leave a message in the guestbook.

*Update* The car is currently having a lot of work done. I haven't updated the site in a long time so I figured I'd let ya'll know what's goin on. Got it Fixed a while ago. It has new paint, a cowl induction/ram air style hood, roll cage and racing seat belts. Right now the car is at a local shop getting a new motor and trans. The motor is a freshly built 5.0 302 roller motor with cobra internals and ported heads. Backing the motor will be a fresh five speed. As soon as I get the car back to my house I'll take pics and post them.

This is my 1965 GT Mustang. Yes, it is a true GT. I bought it about a year ago in fair to good condition. Since she has had a lot of other work done to her, mostly mechanical. Most of the suspension has been rebuilt. Also, we just recently rebuilt the trans. Also, it has new brake and fuel lines recently installed. There are a lot of new parts installed.

I have always loved mustangs and my first love was a 1989 GT convertible Mustang. It had a Cobra R hood and wheels and was bright red. That car made m fall in love with Fords. Now I own my car and have begun modifying it, slowly but surely.

rcd716fsu's 1965 Ford Mustang THis is a good shot of the interior. I just finished building my enter console and am pretty proud of it. It houses my cd player and has a brushed aluminum opening for my shifter.

It has new dual flowmasters exhaust, a 4 barrel holley, and many stereo upgrades. These include a 12" sub in a VT box and some nice speakers.

rcd716fsu's 1965 Ford Mustang This is my engine. Mostly stock. It's a 289 stock bottom end. The only after market part is the Holley.

rcd716fsu's 1965 Ford Mustang This is my interior. It is in pretty good shape. You can see here my freshly built custom console. I built this myself. It holds my cd player and has a brushed aluminum opening for the shifter.

Thanks for stopping by ya'll!

The Accident

ALlright, I already typed this once and car domain deleted it so this time will be brief. Me and my friend John are on our way to his house last Saturday Night at about 11:45. We're goin down East Paulding Drive when we come upon tire marks that lead off the road and a car in the ditch. I slow down to under 30 mph to see if the person is ok. Just as I turn my head to look in the window, smash, she hits us. I slammed on the brakes and we skidded for about 30 feet. Somehow when we stopped my car was still perfectly in the lane. As soon as we stopped I looked behind us and saw flames. All i could say to John as "Run!". We both darted out our doors and took off opposite directions. I've never run so fast in my life. The car didn't blow up, thank god, but was pretty messed up. The girl's Honda Civic was destroyed. Radiator in the middle of the road and everything. I'm hoping my car won't be totalled. Here are some pics.

They'll only fit mustangs from 94-04, unless you have a completely new axle these won't fit. The offset is different, I'm pretty sure the size of the rim wont fit without bodywork, and the lug patter is different. sorry about that
