These are pics of my semi-useful custom intake setup. This has actually been removed since the fall of 2007; I wasn't seeing any noticeable benefit and the engine was occasionally choking.

Hence, the following text and photos remain for historical purposes only:

"I removed the front air box next to the battery, replacing it entirely with readily available high-temp flexible vent duct material (which I purchased at my friendly Home Depot). I routed it over the radiator, which may, in retrospect, not have been the smartest method (since heat rises, after all).

Then I pulled the remainder of the hose through the vent in the bottom of the front bumper (and covered the edges with black tape, which isn't shown here).

To be brutally honest, I don't see much difference in performance, but I'm still playing with it. I may try to find a better routing method, but I don't want the ducting to hang too low that it can drag on road debris.
