I bought a 69 chevy shortbed with airbags and decided to mount the body of the 72 on the 69 frame with the bags. Here are the pics of it. The 69 cost 1500 bucks and the swap took plentyof time! swapped the cab, painted the frame, swapped axles, and swapped some other parts.
The 69 frame has airbags with a 12 bold rear end and a 4-link. My engine is bored 40 over. New pics of chopped longbed into shortbed.. check em out.
Had to cut 18" off each bedside. Cut them into three pieces. Cut 11" off the front and 7" off the rear!
Motor has new main/rod bearings. also has new rings.
I'm running some 2.02/1.65 gm heads with titanium valves, comp cam valve springs, and some 1.5 roller rockers. The truck is finally out of the paintshop and took about 4 months. The truck has shaved door handles, gas tank filler hole, emblems, side marker lights, aluminum trim, and the wiper cowl.
Got a brand new billet grille. The swap has been a success and verry challenging. Now automatic with a 350 turbo transission
and 3.73 gears.I'm 20 years old and work on my own stuff.
I got this truck for x-mas back in 03 and been modifying it since then. I got about $12,000 invested. My dad freaked when he saw the somewhat finished product. I love doing this kinda thing!!
