~~~~~~~~~~Pipe Dreams~~~~~~~~~~~~~
i am painting the pipes because i dont want to wait 2 weeks to powdercoat them, plus i need the car faster than then, and since the pipes are really out of eyes view, its not really a priority, but i just want them protected from rust, but if im gonna do it, i might as well do it right.
these pipes will be painted(this is a older pic of them, i used them on the car for a good few months, and now they have developed a wee bit o' rust.
these are the paints we will use to properly paint the pipes. We will start off by taking the pipe, and sanding it down with some 80-120 grit sanding pads. then wipe the shavings off with a rag.
we are using RustOleum Primer, RustOleum Red Base and some DupliColor metalcast, which in light coats will give it the powdercoated effect, without the powdercoated cost.
here we start off with the already prepped and sanded IC pipe.
heres another pipe that has already been primered. since i am using fast dry primer, i will do light coats at a time.
heres the little pipe rack i made to make painting 3D objects alot easier.
more shots of the primered goodness. most ricers would stop at this step for that mad tyte unfinished jaydeem look. fuck that shit. we dont half ass things in this garage.
heres a shot of the first coat of red base shot on. nice moderate coats.
some more shots. my camera for some reason was making these look orange.
more shots.
ahh everyone knows the Greddy Type-S Blow Off Valves trademark, its purple gayness. purple sucks ass, so well change that. i took apart the BOV and scuffed up the top section, then primered it, then blasted it red.
here it is just sitting in its spot just to match it with the Valve Cover, pretty dam close. im gonna shoot it with a little of the metalcast so it looks like it came powdercoated like that.
another shot, different camera settings( i can never get these shots to look right)
heres the engine bay with the BOV all put back together.
looking down the engine at the lower drivers side FMIC pipe.
looking through into the lower pass side IC Pipe.
