this is my 1987 toyota mr2. it has 86xxx miles on it and will hopefully not get many more. i plan on restoring the mr2. everybody on the board is doing modifications to there mk1s and i would like to keep mine stock. i have to replace the thermostat, radiator, water pump clutch,headgasket,passenger fender,rear quarters. this process will be done after i get my other project on the road. it will also get painted its stock super red color seeing that the person who did the paint did pretty bad.
KIN'ITSU NO YAMIthis is my project it will weigh around 2000 lbs when i finsh the weight reduction. the power to weight ratio will help even though it is pretty good. i will also be getting a new engine and tranny ecu and wiring harness for $250 from a mr2 mechanic in penn.i also plan on making a custom exhaust for the black mr2 so i am not weighed down by the stock muffler. i have also done the plumey spoiler modification. it is going to get spray painted flat black seeing that i will eventually repaint the car flat black.i am going to try welding in plates where the rust is so i dont have to spend a fortune on panels( i am already going to do it for my other mr2). i chose this color so that i am not bright and noticable. i also will be modifying the suspension so it handles on rails and then to performance. pics of weight reduction so far interiors dash is out with stereo and other items. then the a/c, heater, carpet, insulation, power windows,rear quarter windows.
