I finally got a chance to install my transmission oil cooler.  The shifting feels a little hard, but gets better once the engine is warmed up.  Transmission slippage is less frequent.  Glad I finally did this!

Got the B&M Transmission Oil Cooler Part#

I read several write-ups about trans coolers being mounted on the condenser or radiator be placing the tie straps through the cooling fins.  Looking at the long term I wanted to figure a way to mount the cooler and be able to easily remove it.

I had to remove my grille tech grille so I could see the area where the cooler would go.  After staring at this area I came up with a way to mount the grille without having to use the tie straps.

The answer was the pre-drilled 10mm holes on the frame.  Inspiration was short lived when I place the cooler against the frame and the holes did NOT line up.

But then I figure I could use the brackets that came with the cooler.  Instead of making them straight, I pivoted each bracket so that the holes would align.  WhaLa!  I had to use the 10mm bolts that came with my custom ground kit in order to mount the cooler.

The only mistake I made was securing the hose while the cooler was mounted.  Once I had fitted and cut the hose to it's proper length, I should have dismounted the cooler then secured the hose.  The day after the install, when I came home from work, I found a small leak coming from the return line from the cooler to the trans.  Fluid loss was negligible but it was very difficult to secure it even more since I could not unmount the cooler full of fluid.  The best I could do was to loosen both brackets and tilt the cooler to the left so I could fit my hand and through the valence and tighten the return hose.  No more leaks so it's all good!
