Toolz: 10mm hex rachet with extension. Magnetic would be a plus because I had to have a steady hand so the machine screw bolt would not fall out of the hex when screwing it back in.
Disconnect the battery and remove the FSTB is you have one. If you don't you will not be able to get to coils #1,#3 and #5.
You will also need to unsecure the line (circle in red). Once removed you will be able to replace coil #5.
Unscrew machine bolt. Disconnect ignition coil harness connector. Firmly pull out old coil. Firmly insert new coil. Screw in machine bolt to secure coil and attach harness connector.
Two pics of coil #1
Old coilon the left, new coil on the right.
Old coil on the top, new coil on the bottom.
Old coils: 1, 3 and 5
Owners with AE/Infiniti cover will need to remove this extra bracket in order to remove coil #2 and #6.
Old coilon the left, new coil on the right.
Old coils: 2, 4, and 6
Once coils are replaced. Double check all machine screws. Reattach backet and engine cover. Re-secure lines in pic two (red circled). Re-install FSTB.
Ignition coil replacement took me 1.5 hours. Contributing factors were removal of FSTB, picture taking, and dealing with confine space for replacing coils 1, 3 and 5.
Here are the test coil results. Not sure which is the bad coil.
