/*--UPDATE 03/13/2005--*\
My RippMods header arrived and was installed. To those who are also looking at this header...the following points should be noted:

1) requires some welding (take it to a good exhaust shop.
2) O2 sensors have to be extended to new locations (this is very easy, just adding in some wire).
3) the horsepower gain is quite noticable, and definetely worth the price of the headers.
4) it does throw an engine code (at least in my silly california smog setup camry)
5) it throws an EGR flow insufficient code...I would just recommend capping off the EGR port and jumping the sensor with a resistor that will send back a signal that the EGR is always functioning properly.

New rims and tires:
Velox PG-10c's
Pirelli P-Zero Nero M&S 215x45xZR17

New Radiator (custom built and on it's way):
PWR Performance custom made for the '96 Camry LE

New Transmission:
I initially was looking at Level 10...it's now a frankenstein from Level 10, IPT, and Pro Torque
Automatic transmission, it will be installed by the end of march, and should shift in a manner just barely streetable.

New Engine:
This is on the list to be started in June at the latest. Specs below:
knife-edged and polished crank
Forged Wiseco pistons (8.5:1 compression; no overbore)
gapless rings
Pauter X-beam forged rods
Toga main and rod bearings
High output oil pump
new water pump
Cometic metal head gasket
1mm overbore stainless steel intake and exhaust valves
new valve springs
titanium valve retainers
bronze valve guides
street port on the head
intake manifold blended to head
*some of the engine details are still in a bit of flux as I work out specifics with the machinists and manufacturers that I am using.

I have a 1996 Toyota Camry with the 4cyl 5SFE engine. Mods so far are as follows:

MSD 6A
Blaster SS coil
Custom short ram air intake (Blitz SUS filter)
Custom Exhaust (2.5" pre-cat back dual side dumps) (www.anthonysmuffler.com)
Venom 230cc injectors
Nology cables
Beru Silverstone plugs
Chipped ECU from Technosquare
HyperGround Ground Cables
Tokico Struts
H&R Springs
Pioneer Premier DEH-P850MP head unit
Alpine V12 amps (one 4 channel one 2 channel)
Single Kicker Comp 12" square sub in a custom trunk enclosure
custom front grill
shaved rear logos (except for the top toyota logo)
17" Alessio Rims
SunPro A/F guage

Well, that's all that I feel really matters. I have a nice stereo setup in it, but I only really care about the motor and that it looks okay (no body kits or anything like that, but there are some minor modifications on the outside).

Up and coming mods:

I have $1500 worth of Lexus ES300 disc brake parts sitting in my garage to install. I am waiting for my custom headers to be finished (from E.L. Prototypes). So far, I have about $1200 worth of modified parts that I was supposed to get over a year ago that haven't yet shown up. Well, I found a new place to get my headers, it should take about a week for them to be finished. My custom intake manifold was supposed to be here from E.L. Prototypes as well, but it looks like I am going to have to make it on my own. Other expected upgrades are a turbo kit (with a new full seal kit, and plasma-moly piston rings and pauter rods). With those internals upgraded, I should be able to get just about 16psi without damage (just a note here, the Pauter rods cost about $750 to $800). After that, I'm probably going to stop working on this car other than a paint job... I have a 1957 Ford Country Sedan T-Bird Special that I am restoring...so that will take most of my time.

So I've got to ask, why are you reducing compression with your engine if you're planning on keeping it NA?

Love the performance MODS man! Same engine in my '95. Hope to do many of the same mod's some day. I've gotta start with the system though. Is there a Camry with nbetter lines than the '92-'96? I think not.
