Welcome all, this is my 1959 superior Cadillac Ambulance. Retro fitted into the ECTO-1 car from the movie Ghostbusters. Originally bought from NJ and shipped in rather sad shape to CA for a complete facelift. 21ft long & 6ft wide, 2 jumper seats in rear and it seats 4 comfortably in the front bench seat. Now complete with all lightbars, cowls, spinners, antennas and a MP3 of the Ecto-1 siren with loud speakers mounted inside of the lightbars existing siren grills. On a power note, she came with the popular aftermarket GM 454 automaitc tran, so hauling around the 3tons of this auto is not a problem. power steering would be nice though, but not available.

As you can see she NEEDED alot of work, so i hauled her over to 'Cadillacs only' specializing in vintage cadillac restoration. although they had never restored a 40 year old ambulance before it became quite the finacial challange, but soon after the primer was added and paint splashed on things began to look up.
Okay, so now shes finally road worthy, painted and cleaned up. Time to add the lights and 'ghost dectecting' equipment to the roof rack. This came to be quite the task in aquiring the correct lights to create the most accurate replica.
Now to date we oficially have a near complete replica of the car used in ghostbusters.
Luckily when purchased the inteior needed little or no work.
Okay now were Officially done. Whats next? How about headed on a little road trip up to NY to the firehall they used in ghostbusters.
It was More than a blast pulling out of the firehall with the lights on, but of course the police showed up... wanting pictures. completlely priceless. the firehall staff were very welcoming and friendly with our requests. we soon headed home back to Cali.
The ECTO-1 is currently in storage.
