Running alot of power will take it's toll on any stock drivetrain not rated to hold the power. Out came the aftermarket McLeod clutch and stock Ford T-56 transmission.... In went a Spec clutch and Viper T-56 transmission..the same trans used in a Dodge Viper. The stock T-56's torque capacity was only rated to hold 450lb-ft, where the Viper T-56 is rated to hold 650lb-ft. I've since broken in the new clutch and trans..everything is PERFECT. It powershifts like butter =o) An even better benefit from the trans swap is the gas mileage. Since the Viper T-56 has a different overdrive gear in 6th.... while cruising at 80mph, the RPMs r only at 1900RPMs.
The following pics r my friend, Kevin(blue) who owns Wicked Motorsports, and his 3rd & 4th pair of hands, Steve(green), doing the entire install.
