I have new paint!
Here is a shot of the old girl on April 8, 2004 - the day I picked her up from Dad's shop. Does she look good or what??!!
One of the "hold your breath" moments while working on the Dodge was when Dad and I had to bolt the rear bumper back on. The bumpers, both front and rear, fit so close to the body of the car and I did not want to scratch my new paint! The rear bumper was especially challenging because not only did we have to watch the sides so that we didn't scratch the paint, but we had to line up the ends of the exhaust pipes with the exhaust deflectors that are attached to the bumper. But, we did it! The exhaust deflectors are really cool and were an option in '57. Someday, I do have to have mine re-chromed - they are a bit pitted.
Just a nice side shot of Peggy Sue with the new paint. Dad only repainted the lower white portion of the car and the white on the fins. He then buffed and polished the original coral paint and the white on the roof.
