RanchoMan1972's 1972 Ford Ranchero

This is my car. A 1972 Ford Ranchero 500. I got it just like this. It may look really bad but runs and drives with 42,885 original miles on it. I will not be restoring it to 100% but I will be to about 90%.

There is bondo around the edges but only on the right side of the car, and really only on the quarter panel. But the frame is really solid.

Now I bet youre saying that this is a 1973 Ranchero. No its really not, It just has a 1973 Ford Torino Front end on it. I do plan to change that back. But for now it looks neat.

And the best part. My smashed in windshield. Ya it looks bad. In fact it is because all the windows are gone. But as of now I bought all the windows and have the new windshield in and the back window but not the side windows. But I will put those windows in very soon.

And yes one of the great parts of my car. My dashboard. And yes the mileage is right. I was surprised my self.

And this is my power plant. A 1972 Ford 351 Cleveland 4v (4 barrel carburetor). I am not sure if this is a Cobra Jet engine or not. As of right now it has a 2-barrel carburetor but I will change that down the road. The thing I like the most is how I have front wheel disk breaks

Well I have done more work to the car, and I will be putting more pictures on my page of the car as I restore it. Thank you

Hey, Looks like you got quite a bit of work to go on your Ranchero there buddy. I got lucky, Mine's not in that bad a shape, I just gotta cut some rust out and have some new metal put in. Other than that I'm set. But yeah don't give up it'll look awsome once it's done

Dude, climb under your car and look for the engine casting numbers on the block next to the starter. If they are: D2AE-CA, its a Cobra Jet engine. Also, it should have a duel point destributer. The only thing 2A48Q in the VIN means is that it has a 351 Cleveland, not a 351Cleveland CJ.I love what you're doing with it,though. Keep up the GOOD work and make us FORD boys proud.
