got pictures of my SVO taken for a "Car Tech" book coming out later this year. should be an awesome book. its a late model mustang buyers guide. shows all the mustangs between 79-04. and how mods affect the performance of each. here is my favorite pic of the 200+ that were taken.

it is an 85 1/2 SVO mustang. It was Ford's cobra mustang (though never called a cobra) of the 80's. built to out handle most things on the street, and also out ran most things on the street. instead of having the car built around the usual 5.0 platform the mustangs were, SVO took the mustang and put a turbo charged version of the pinto engine (SOHC 2.3L) and put it into the mustang. resulting in great power. the SVO made 205 hp with 15 PSI of boost, and 248 ftlbs or torque. they also cam with KONI adjustables on all four corners. Also outfitted with 5 Lug Rear wheel disc brakes. the only other fox body mustang to come out with 5 lug RWD brakes were the 93 cobra R's. Ford ended up shutting down the SVO car making program at the end of 86 because even though they charged A LOT extra for an SVO they simply weren't making any money off of them. (with in a thousand of the break even point after 3 years)

SHO's were never considered SRT's because they were never Lamborghini's.

Hey man, I love the SVO. It looks awesome. These Mustangs are not seen around very often. You should keep that Stang for life cause' I'm sure it will definately be a collector's one day. Like the SHO too. That's really hot. Come see my 91 Lincoln M7. Peace!
