It came from the woods.
And it was broken. While out wheeling my 88 Ranger it ended up turning sideways while going down hill. After falling on its side and sliding some distance it didn't quite look so nice.

So I decided to re-do EVERYTHING.
I removed all the old sheet metal replaceing with stuff from a donor truck. rebuilt the 2.3l with some nice performace parts includeing a blue racer cam, K&N air filter, bored it out,Some longer rods and a nice chrome breather cap (chrome adds HP people. )
The interior was left mostly stock other than a decent tune set from pioneer and jensen. Suspension was upgraded from a 4" to a 9" lift by mixing some homebrew with some superlift. the 3" body lift was kept for additional clearance to hoist the body up above the 38x15 gumbo mudders.
drop pitman arm and longer driveshafts were needed. Gears were replaced by 4:56s and the old 4:10s now make a nice conversational ash tray on my coffee table at home. The truck is still taken off-road quite a often these days though I'm a bit more careful (what an scratch the blood red paint? )
Lately though, I've been thinking of going one step further with solid axles out of an early bronco, v-8 and a newer body.
